Mission: Provide free civil legal assistance to low income clients or client groups
Programs: Fejc provides direct legal assistance in immigration cases to low income residents of lee, hendry, desoto, glades and charlotte counties. We primarily represent unaacompanied minor immigrants, victims of domestic violence or other violent crime, and certain court cases where extraordinary relief may be available. We represent minor children directly in cases involving education services and dependency issues. We are also court appointed in certain dependency cases to resolve a variety of legal issues a dependent child may face. The affordable housing project seeks to preserve and create affordable housing for low income clients in our service area. We have been involved in fair housing litigation, litigation and advocacy surrounding mobile home closures and the preservation of public housing.
