Causes: Community Coalitions
Mission: Facil facilitates collaboration among member cils and stakeholders resulting in a unified voice advocating for equal rights for people with disabilities. In addition facil provides a range of services for the member centers for independent living including but not limited to trainings, meeting coordination, and grant writing.
Programs: James patrick memorial work incentive personal care attendant program - provides personal care attendant funding to people with severe and chronic disabilities to allow them to maintain gainful employment and remain indpendent. The program provides up to $1600 per month to qualified individuals to cover their personal care attendant expenses for assisting them with activities of daily living such as dressing and hygiene. Program participants must meet criteria listed in fs 413. 402 and also meet requirements in the program's policies and procedures. In 2015, the program served 72 participants.
the bikers care program: revenue from the sales of a speciality license plate for motorcycles allows for technical assistance and other services to be offered in order to operate more efficiently and better serve people with disabilities.
membership: the membership dues provide the income to offset the costs of providing programs which are not covered by grants to the members.
