Mission: The reuben h. Fleet science center seeks to inspire life-long learning by furthering the publics understanding and enjoyment of science and technology.
Programs: The fleet provided informal science education to our region and its visitors using large format films, planetarium shows, digital presentations, science exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, lectures, summer camps, professional development programs for teachers and extensive outreach efforts. As a leader in informal science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (steam), the science center is continuously developing engaging, educational programs and exhibitions for san diego and its visitors. With the recent appointment of executive director steven snyder, staff, trustees and the community at large are beginning to assess and redefine the fleets future direction in order to enhance the impact and relevance of services to its 425,000 annual guests, including 100,000 students who participate in fleet programs. The fleet engages, educates and entertains 365 days-a-year.
