This almost-all-volunteer organization has been teaching people to manage their money effectively since 2004. The volunteer teachers and instructional handbooks go to the students and explain personal finance concepts in down-to-earth language.
I have taught for FLCCT for a decade and love being able to help my neighbors learn simple but effective skills on building credit, budgeting, saving, etc. Signing up to volunteer is easy- the teaching opportunities are posted through a website that manages the schedules. While the information covered in the classes is fairly basic, I still learn something new about the topics each year.
