Five Buckets does wonderful work teaching financial literacy in an approachable way, during a time that matters, and with fundamental skills that go beyond a workshop.
Volunteering with Five Buckets has been a rewarding experience, and I’m passionate about their mission to provide quality financial literacy education. Their workshops are thoughtfully designed, making complex financial topics like budgeting, credit, and student loans accessible and engaging. It’s inspiring to see young adults and low-income communities gain confidence in managing their finances, a crucial skill often overlooked in traditional education. The positive feedback from attendees speaks volumes, as many express feeling more optimistic about their financial future. I’m grateful to support a nonprofit that addresses such an essential need in the community.
I recently attended a workshop held by 5 Buckets, and as a high school student just now applying for my first job, it really opened my eyes. The facilitators were extremely passionate and knowledgeable, while also making sure that everyone understood the topics. The workshop was well-structured and organized, and I liked how it focused on personal growth and goal-setting. Everything was explained in a way that was easy to follow and made sense for both life and work. One of the best parts was being able to ask questions and interact with others in real time. I left feeling way more clear about my future goals and excited to put what I learned into practice. I’d definitely recommend this workshop to anyone who’s just starting to figure out money or wants to pick up some practical skills for life.

I recently got involved with Five Buckets and started my journey as an assisting educator for the financial literacy program. I am so impressed with the thoroughness of this curriculum and how simplified they have made it so that even young teenagers can full grasp such vital concepts that most adults don't even know on average. Having the opportunity to help spread this wealth of knowledge feels like a very important duty and I am glad to have been introduced to it.

As Executive Director of YouthSF I am concerned about the High School & College students we hire to be Facilitators/ Counselors at our Summer Camps. For many of our Facilitators YouthSF is their first job so we are eager to help them with their professional development. We host workshops on everything from resume writing to public speaking. Having the Five Buckets Foundation provide an expertly led financial literacy workshop has proven to be an invaluable addition to our training! One would be surprised to know how many young people know very little about personal finance - such as the perils of credit cards, budgeting, loan, taxes. This causes many of them to get in financial distress at an early age. Financial literacy is a crucial issue right now, and schools in California do nothing to address this need.
