The Fisher Center is an outstanding organization dedicated to Alzheimer's research. They stand out from other nonprofits because of the percentage of funds they use that go toward research instead of administration. Truly a hardworking group of people!

The Fisher Center Foundation stands out because of its efficiency in using donor funds for the purpose of Alzheimer's research. The foundation is a four-star charity according to Charity Navigator. As someone who works directly with the foundation, I can attest to the commitment and dedication of Fisher Center Foundation staff to their stated goals, and the remarkable achievements that the Fisher Center itself has made, thanks to the foundation's wise use of funds. I would confidently recommend the foundation to anyone seeking to make an impact with their donation in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.

The Fisher Foundation has demonstrated a generosity and collaboration that many organizations only dream of. Throughout the tenure of their late President, Michael Stern, and since his passing, staff of the Fisher Foundation have done much to demonstrate a commitment to educating Alzheimer's caregivers and work to relieve the strain of caring through the use of different communication strategies. Further, while Fisher is not directly involved in program development, colleagial relationships established over the years have continued as Fisher staff serve as a sounding board, based on their exposure to national and world-wide Alzheimer's caregivers.

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation has the Nobel Prize winning Dr. Paul Greengard as its medical director. He is a brilliant and caring professional in the field of Alzheimer's. The Foundation also has a very impressive record of putting the majority of money donated to actual research and have very low overhead. I recommend them enthusiastically.

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation has partnered with us on many projects over the course of several years. Fisher staff are well versed in Alzheimer's research and care and provide useful information for professionals and family caregivers on the diagnosis, treatment and research of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Their website Alzinfo.org contains a wealth of important information and their magazine is a useful tool for the lay person in understanding AD and getting needed help.

I am a proud donor to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research. My wife
suffers from this disease and when I considered making a donation to a
good research facility I was recommended to the Fisher Foundation by my lawyer. I was most grateful for this recommendation as I later learned about their research in this field and that the Managing Chairman
was Dr. Paul Greengard a Nobel Laureate at Rockefeller University> Last
month I visited the Fisher Foundation's laboratories and was so impressed by its staff and the work being carried out by them. There is no doubt about my encouraging all individuals I know to assist them in this endeavor.

The Fisher Center is devoted to Alzheimer's Research and is making progress in combatting this dreadful disease. When my mother-in-law became stricken with Alzheimer's, I started giving to The Fisher Center because of its commitment to research and extremely low overhead. When our son was preparing for his bar mitzvah, he chose to make The Fisher Center the focus of his mitzvah project. He asked for contributions at local businesses on behalf of The Fisher Center in honor of his grandmotherand raised $2,250.50 for the organization. We have continued to give to The Fisher Center over the years, and we see from updates provided to donors that The Fisher Center is coming closer to successful treatment of Alzheimer's.

I only recently learned about this organization. The research they perform is cutting edge, and they are significantly assisting people afflicted with Alzheimer's and their families. The materials they have available either directly from the organization or on their website are wonderful resources. You shouldn't be shy in contacting them for any assistance they may provide to you on the subject of Alzheimer's Disease.

I learned Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation though Alan White for few years ago. Under his foundation's helped, I started Chinese American Alzheimer's coalition of New York, Inc, with three other health care workers in 2004. In 2010, the coalition has more than 30+ organizations. We are non-profit and don't have any grant. All member are volunteer working with consumer education, Service Directory, Professional training and research . In the meantime, we are still working very closely with Fisher center and they are helping the coalition as well

I have been a health reporter for over ten years for The Palm Beach Post, worked for The Palm Beach Daily News and now Examiner.com.

The Alzheimer's Research Foundation, Fisher Center, has been an incredible research tool for myself. It has also been a terrific resource for my readers who have, unfortunately, faced Alzheimer's with their loved ones.

This is a disease that not only victimizes one person, it can debilitate an entire family. Yet, very few people understand the dynamics of the infliction nor the treatments. Fortunately, The Alzheimer's Research Foundation can answer many questions for many people.

I am an Elder Law attorney in Palm Beach, and frequently refer my clients who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s to the Fisher Center’s website.  There are so many good resources and so much valuable information available on www.Alzinfo.org that I have linked to it directly from my firm’s website.  My clients are also happy to learn about the research the Foundation sponsors; it gives them hope for a cure. We give every year to the Fisher Foundation because of their dedication to finding a cure for Alzheimers. We were particularly impressed with their fiscal integrity and the fact that more than 95% of the money actually goes to the charitable purpose with very little overhead costs. That represents good value for the dollar in a cause that touches my family and I personally.

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation is a unique nonprofit organization that provides funding into the causes of Alzheimer's disease and the search for a cure for the debilitating illness that affects more than 5 million Americans and many millions more worldwide. Almost all of the money raised goes to fund Alzheimer's research, working with researchers at the world renowned Rockefeller University.

The money goes to fund basic research -- the kind of research that scientists must do to understand the underlying mechanisms of disease. As such, the work is not always "sexy" -- that is, it does not always have an immediate impact or practical application. But it is only through this kind of basic research that scientists can better understand a disease, create new and more effective treatments, and one day find a cure.

The work of The Fisher Center has been written up in publications like The New York Times, where the work of Nobel-prize winner Paul Greengard has received funding into the basic causes of Alzheimer's disease. It is this kind of groundbreaking research that will set the way for more breakthroughs and advances in the field of Alzheimer's treatment.

As a research scientist investigating Alzheimer's disease I am exposed daily to the complexities of the laboratory. My role as an advisor to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation provides me with the opportunity to experience the human face of the disease, as well as understand the challenges posed by the need to raise money to support the research we do. In addition to providing generous support for Alzheimer's research, The Fisher Foundation maintains an extremely useful Website (alzinfo.org) making available educational resources about Alzheimer's, as well as reports of recent medical and scientific progress in the field. One of my jobs is to review and edit scientific information so that it can be put on the website and be useful for caregivers and others interested in keeping abreast of current research and facts concerning the biology of Alzheimer's, while also providing useful tips to Alzheimer's caregivers. I commend the Fisher Foundation and its dedicated staff for their keen interest in finding a cure for this dread disease, for exercising care in providing useful information to the public and for their generous support.

The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research is unique in that it offers information from both cutting edge scientific research and accessible, common sense caregivers. In their splendid magazine, Preserving Your Memory, the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research often showcases people who have made a major contribution to the arts, or medicine or science. Within the pages of Preserving Your Memory, these famous people talk honestly and openly about their own personal Alzheimer's journey or the Alzheimer's journey of someone they love and care for.
The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research also offers an informative, uplifting and very helpful blog on their web site. This blog discusses living with Alzheimer's from the point of view of many different kinds of people: those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, those who are caregivers and professionals working in the Alzheimer's field. Not only does Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research support the ongoing work of its research team, this splendid organization educates, informs and cares for everyone who is involved in living with Alzheimer's.
