Programs: The fiscal policy institute (fpi) is a nonpartisan research and education organization that focuses on the tax, budget, and economic issues that affect the quality of life and well-being of new york state residents. Fpi's work is intended to further the development and implementation of public policies that create a strong economy in which prosperity is broadly shared by all new yorkers. Fpi utilizes its publications to promote public and governmental understanding of fiscal issues that are important to new york's future. The institute disseminates the results of its research through informational meetings, forums, training sessions, hearings, conferences, round table discussions and periodic reports. Through these efforts, the institute generates an informed discussion of the state's fiscal situation, its fiscal policy and ways to improve those policies.
