First Priority Lake Cumberland is an amazing organization. It is growing tremendously this school year. Each week more and more students are attending meetings and hearing the gospel from other students. That is why this First Priority works. Students reaching students with the hope of Jesus Christ.
I was part of First Priority all throughout my middle and high school experience at Corbin Public school systems. The countless lives impacted and forever changed by the sacrificial service of others has something that will stay with me forever. I was glad to be part of this group and work along side some of the most giving people I know in sharing their stories and loving on others no matter the cost to themselves. From free breakfast for students to community events this organization has impacted the lives of many students from many different backgrounds.
First Priority is a tremendous organization that is very much needed in south east Kentucky. Students have so many pressures and pulls in the modern age, it is important to have a place where students can feel safe, loved, and learn what it is to be a part of the Lord’s family.
First Priority Tri County is very important for our southeastern Kentucky communities. Youth are sometimes first introduced to the gospel through this organization. The meetings allow students to get to know other caring students and have someone to help them if they have a need. School staff have bonding opportunities with students. Plus, first and foremost, youth can learn more about Christ who is an ever present help.
If children today need anything, it is love, guidance, and a helping hand. First Priority Tri County goes out of their way to ensure that children/teens get all of those things. No matter what walk of life a child is from, First Priority is a great outlet for them to plug into in their school system. They provide several fun and meaningful events each year to the community, as well as provide a weekly source of encouragement thru campus coaches throughout the school year. This organization is an extremely well organized, engaging, and meaningful one within our community. I personally think it is the best outlet for our kids and communities to plug into, to best serve our schools and our community. Tim Bargo is a great leader, and an even greater person. Can't say enough good about First Priority!!
First Priorty Tri-County is a phenomenal organization that has strengthened our community. Tim Bargo is one of the best men I know!
Unlike many other organizations this one gives each child no matter their social status a feeling that they are needed and wanted. It makes them feel as if they can make a difference not only in their own lives but in others also.
This organization gives hope to children without reason to hope. It reaches out to all youth. I see this organization fulfilling the life of hope to all teens and younger children.
You cant put words to what First Priority does in the schools of eastern Kentucky. Bianca gets to eat a hot sausage biscuit every Friday morning because of FP- its the only time she gets to eat McDonalds, she said. Kelsie was devastated after her family suffered from a break-in- she had someone to comfort her and listen because of FP. Allyson had been the popular kid, attending all the high-school parties- now she leads the school in a positive way because of a speaker at FP. Jacob was lost but now he has found the One, True Savior because of an invitation given at FP. Huge impacts from individuals in FP who have a heart for the lost.
First Priority is a life changing organization for many. It allows students to gain skills in leadership and be positive role models for their peers.
I've been involved with First Priority since early 2000. It's one of the most productive, positive, character-building programs I have seen used in school. It provides an avenue for community, church and school to combine resources, come together and IMPACT the lives of students. Students reaching students, encouraging each other to make postive life choices and have a POSITIVE impact in our schools and communities is the driving force behind FP Tri County. I wish every school took advantage of this resource for it's students.
I sponsored First Priority at South Laurel High School until I began teaching at another school. First Priority Tri-County is an amazing organization! It has grown and changed to reach out to the different student groups within schools as well as to the community. They are developing young people to become effective leaders, as well as reaching out to our communities and world.
