My son lived in an apartment at First Place AZ for one year. While they did a good job of selling the place at a visitation and setting lofty expectations for what assistance would be provided for my son, they fell terribly short on follow through. My son never got a job, nor any coaching on relationships or handling finances or anything else discussed on their website and at our intake meeting. They don't have the professional expertise to accomplish the goals they set. No counselors or medical professionals are on staff. The staff is primarily part-time and paid by the hour. A year of time , money, and emotional capital was wasted at this place. They took advantage of my deep desire to help my on-the-spectrum son live a more independent, productive life, and they did not deliver. The whole experience was disappointing in every way. I should note that my son did not go through the transition academy. I cannot recommend this place.
