Mission: The mission of the Fire Family Foundation is to provide support and financial assistance to firefighters and their families in times of need. Firefighters risk everything to serve their communities. When they're in need, we give back. In times of crisis, firefighters work on the front lines: fighting fires, evacuating buildings, providing medical care, and doing whatever else it takes to protect their community – and sometimes they need help. We provide support to both career and volunteer firefighters nationwide. Since 2008, we have provided support and financial assistance to firefighters in need. Our board reviews grant applications monthly to provide what firefighters and their families need including, mortgage or rent relief, car payments, paying for medical bills not covered by insurance, or assisting a family after the loss of a firefighter. Fire Family Foundation is the charitable arm of Firefighters First Credit Union.
Target demographics: Career and volunteer firefighters in need nationwide
Direct beneficiaries per year: Each year we provide support and financial assistance in the form of grants to pay bills for firefighters and their families in times of need. We pay for what is needed including, mortgage or rent, car payments, medical bills not covered by insurance, or assistance after the loss of a firefighter. We also provide ten $5,000 college scholarships to the children of active, retired or fallen firefighters. As needed, we provide disaster relief kits with a $250 gift card, blanket and a toiletry bags to firefighters who have lost their homes. We also provide grants to fire charities so that they can provide support to firefighters nationwide.

Programs: We fulfill our mission through four core programs, providing financial assistance grants to firefighters and their families, awarding college scholarships, providing disaster relief and granting funds to fire charities. Fire Family Foundation stands ready to be there for firefighters and their families; we have their backs when it counts. We provide assistance so they have less to worry about when a medical emergency or other hardship strikes.
