I love this nonprofit! I have always been concerned with social issues related to children so the mission of FM immediately spoke to my heart. In fact, I loved it so much, I joined the Board! My husband and I have participated in dozens of serve days, and we never cease to be amazed by how much gets done in a short afternoon! We have met some of the most beautiful, loving families as we delivered meals. Besides the obvious care extended to the families served, Fill Ministries offers a truly meaningful and fun experience for volunteers of all ages who want to make a difference in this world,
Every July 4 weekend, we have a big family gathering and everyone always asks "are we going to volunteer on Sunday?" What a joy to share the opportunity with our family!
I volunteer at Meals By Grace because I wanted to make a difference. The individuals who come to the food pantry are in need of food and with mine as well as other volunteers we fill that need. There are other needs to...a smile and a hug, a voice saying hey, or where have you been...other things needed beyond just food. We also provide those as well. Come see us!
We met the founders of Meals by Grace a few years ago and were impressed with the mission they have, basically no child should go to bed hungry. In our area we have a lesser known population, those who have food insecurity. Meals by Grace / Fill Ministries has developed and grown their services to reach as many as families as possible. We support them by spreading their mission and financial support so that they can continue to grow. The community they serve needs then and their mission.
Volunteering with Fill Ministries/Meals by Grace is our way of paying forward the many blessings God has bestowed upon us. We know we are feeding families with school children who are battling food insecurity. There are also items the families are unable to purchase with food stamps. On one delivery we asked the Mom if there was anything more the family needed. Her young daughter translated for us. They were in need of toilet tissue and laundry detergent. We drove to the nearest grocery store, purchased the largest generic package of toilet tissue we could find along with the laundry detergent and delivered the items a short time later. You have never seen anyone so overjoyed to receive generic toilet tissue. The need is REAL. We have been delivering to ‘’our special family’’ for about 2 years. It’s always rewarding to see the children’s eyes (and Mom’s too) light up when we arrive, especially when we deliver something special such as a stuffed animal, a book or a birthday gift. As Pantry team leads, we enjoy working with, getting to know and teaching the many volunteers each week and recruiting others for this special service. It never ceases to amaze us how much is accomplished in the short 2-3 hour period we work each Sunday. We pack a hot meal along with a weeks worth of food, including frozen meat, fresh vegetables and fruit, pastries and bread, eggs, pantry items and toiletries for over 60 families. The organization within Meals by Grace and the fellowship is phenomenal .
Meals By Grace is an amazing charity to volunteer with and donate funds. I am local business supporting local families. The founder is an amazing person with a heart of gold and her goal is to provide food to children in need. As a local native I would highly recommend supporting this local charity! I love the fact that I can volunteer with my children and educate them in our own backyard about the needs of others.
My husband and I have been volunteering for Fill Ministries for 6 months- It is an amazing organization that seeks to fill the needs, especially the nutritional needs of needy children and their families in our county. I have been shocked at how many of these families are living just a few roads over from very afluent neighborhoods.
Fill ministries not only provides food for these children year-round, but gives us the perfect venue to donate our money and time to those in need in our own community.
The founders of Fill Ministries have such a deep commitment to finding children in our county who are not getting enough to eat. Every week those kids get food delivered to their doorstep by the volunteers who keep track of other things the family needs to get on their feet again. And the volunteer projects include even little kids -- they have really thought about how families can help their communities together. Also, Fill Ministries has built a farm to make sure their families have fresh food year around, and they have plans to teach their families how to run an aquaponic greenhouse. They have started by teaching disabled adults and veterans. This non-profit is so worthy of our support!
Meals by Grace is a wonderful nonprofit serving people in need in our community. Volunteers get to have a hands on experience by making meals. If volunteers want to, they can also deliver the meals to the families Meals by Grace serves. This nonprofit is very organized and makes serving others fun and meaningful!
Had a wonderful experience serving at Meals by Grace and Fill Ministries! Our service org, CATS- Called Alpharetta To Serve, is a mother/daughter service organization and we’ve enjoyed being a part of Meals by Grace for a few years now. I was serving today with my daughter and I was amazed at the amount of food being prepared and delivered to 60 families in need! Keep up the great work Fill Ministries!!! Can’t wait to volunteer again in the near future.
Fill Ministries is aptly named as it fills a need to feed hungry families so well! It is a welcoming and well organized ministry that makes it easy for adults, teens and even families to serve together. I have volunteered with my church group and we always have a great time!
