I admire the dedication of te Volunteers and members of this organization. I am white , but I really enjoy the friendship, the food, native dances, cultural events, picnic. Multicultural Events that The FAAP offer to residents of Pittsburgh. their dance trope is really amazing. The costumes are lovely, dances very inspiring. All in all it is an organization the enhances and promote the Cultural Diversity in Pittsburgh..

After the death of my late husband, there was a void in my heart, I was looking for some kind of spiritual dimension in my life. Doing volunteer work for the FAAP give me additional meaning in my life. I am from Philippines and I wanted to help put the Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh Inc; (FAAP) in the map of Pittsburgh. Therefore, when I was the FAAP President in 2009-2010 I decided to take advantage to publish the FAAP Portrait in the Pittsburgh Foundation website and participate in their Day of Giving in October. I am very proud of my heritage and believe in Cultural Diversity. I wish for our community to learn more about the Filipino heritage through our educational, charitable and cultural activities throughout the year. Our FAAP Dance Troupe participated in many activities year round. They performed at the Firstnight celebration at the August Wilson Center. Next performance will be at Maggie Hospital this Friday 1 at 6:00 PM. For our Calendar of Events and further info. kindly visit our website www.thefaap.org Our organization is open to all who would like to know more about our culture and make new friends.
