Mission: Fibromyalgia Freedom House was founded by Patricia Hendricksen, who begins her research in the area of unexplained, painful conditions back in 1990. Noting the need for public awareness and better treatment, she held the first patient and doctor national conference at the University of Washington in 1992. As a result of a decade's work as a volunteer, she noticed that the need for homeless shelters for those millions and millions that are having to quit work in order to treat their condition. This is now causing the greatest need...a secure, reliable treatment shelter to temporarily house those while they regain their health.
