Feline Friends, led by the wonderful Toni, is truly a blessing. Thanks to her dedication, compassion, and hard work, I’m now fostering a senior cat who is spending her golden years surrounded by love and comfort. Toni’s devotion to giving older cats a second chance is inspiring, and I’m so grateful for the joy she’s helped bring into my home.

Adoption process is beyond absurd. As much as they’d like to believe they are, the staff at this shelter are NOT veterinarians. Do not listen to their medical advice. The raw food diet they encourage has been linked to serious illness, including bird flu, in cats. Oh, and they’re breaking Illinois law by not vaccinating the cats in their care for rabies.

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. These two volunteers are power hungry, rude, unprofessional, condescending and extremely difficult to work with. Had I known the issues I would face I would have NEVER adopted. Go anywhere else in Chicago if you want to adopt. These women are judgmental and their vetting process is ridiculous. You have to jump through hoops. They will take your “donation fee” but never give you full custody of the animal as they will not change the micro chip information over. They use a vet in Chicago where you never actually meet the vet to discuss the cat. The vet office is difficult in scheduling vaccines and neuter/spay. They do not have an emergency contact so you are SOL if you have an emergency. They will not give the medical records until they see fit and all of their required testing/procedures are done so you can’t establish a relationship with your own vet. They judge potential adopters due to age, income, and location. Pretty disgusted overall.

The previous low reviews on this page corroborates with my experience. I have fostered for them for two years and a half. They are racist and only bring in white, upper middle class, home-owning, suburban people as potential adopters. They treat cats in their care as disposable objects and do not care about the stress they go through. They also have a profound bias against younger adopters. The two women in charge of this rescue are unprofessional, rude, and invasive. Unless you are a similar demographic as these people, I recommend you stay away.

I am a failed foster who ended up with 2 feline friends kittens (and adopted out 2 other fosters to another loving home) - I had no issues with the adoption process or the fostering. They care about their cats and are thorough in their process. Happy to work with them again!

The 2 ladies are deeply racist and get political with their provocative line of questioning. They do not have an ounce of self awareness and will laugh at you when you do bring their offensiveness to their notice. They are known to bring lawsuits to their pet adopters and have way too much free time on their hands to do that to innocent people. They need to get a job and stop passing judgement to younger folks who open up about their personal lives in their pretty invasive PRE adoption surveys. It's giving Trump supporters... It's giving they need to get with the times.

The volunteers are great but the organization is not upfront with the fact that if the adoption doesn't work out, they keep the $150 fee. Yes it's buried in the contract you sign but not at all mentioned or discussed. Other agencies allow for a free trial period. Seems like the money is more important than finding the best home for the kitties. BE WARNED! Many OTHER great adoption options available, like One Tail at a Time or Animal Care League in Oak Park.

Unprofessional. Would not recommend. Application process incredibly repetitive and redundant, and the two main volunteers are skilled in wasting your time. Would look elsewhere.

Disappointed by the two volunteers we interacted with at this charity. Had coordinated and met with a foster cat to adopt, was confirmed via email by the volunteers we would be adopting the cat and just needed to fill out the official paperwork. This paperwork was a repetitive, lengthy set of questions that had previously been answered at several of the various other hoops we were made to jump through. After sending the paperwork, we were abruptly told without reason that we could no longer adopt, and later they said it was because we didn’t have a good relationship with them.

I worry about the animals in their care. They are denying them loving homes.

Unkind. Unhelpful. More interested is suing people than the well being of their cats. Stay away.

This group would be wonderful if they allowed volunteers and adoptions around downtown Chicago. In a previous blog(?) they said they allowed fosters in Evanston yet wouldn't even consider me as an adopter because live in Evanston. To me if a potential adopter is willing to volunteer their time to assist a rescue with limited availability to do home visits because they only have two workers? Why not accept help? Very disappointed by them and hurt. They didn't even take the time to reply to my emails. A kitten they had reminded me of my childhood cat that is deceased. This look alike caused me to cry they looked so much like Amber. Again not my cup of tea seemed exclusive for persons of a upper income tax bracket. Had to add I was approved by them years prior to this for a foster home and adoption. Perhaps they lost helping hands? However again when someone volunteers their time you'd think they'd at least respond.

This organization rescued the cat that I adopted. Feline Friends is a tremendous group of cat-loving people who are very dedicated to helping save countless cats! I encourage everybody to contribute what they can to this live-saving organization.
