Causes: Congregate Meals, Food
Mission: To set the table for young people to transform the health and equity of their community by gathering around food and working towards systems change. We hope youth, people of color and immigrants begin to be viewed as an important and powerful force in the food justice movement.
Programs: The weekly dinner program hosts 54 dinners annually serving over 300 youth at two high school sites to cook an improvised dinner usinga table full of fresh vegetables from local markets.
the counter marketing campaign works with youth to create, implement, and evaluate a youth-led education and awareness campaign to promote healthy food and beverage options countering the existing marketing and advertising of junk food and sugary drinks directed at youth
the community outreach program works to engage low income youth and families in healthy and active living in white center and delridge communities. This includes collaborating with the other community based organizations to advance health equity for all people in our communities.
