The most kind and nurturing rescue that I have come across. Love them and appreciate all their hard work!
I have so many positive experiences with FerlBetter Farm.
2 old Belgians taken off a shipping truck and given a chance to eat, play and have peace.
A young molly mule that need safety and found an amazing home.
Funny pigs, chickens from bad situation that are now safe
I am a Deputy and animal control officer for Greene County and I can say that this is one of my favorite rescues! I reach out to them regularly and they are AlWAYS willing to go above and beyond to assist us. The care of their animals is phenomenal and definitely a rescue worthy of your donations.
We’ve adopted two horses from Feel Better Farm and are so impressed with their care and commitment to the animals. The process was easy and Sarah is always happy to follow up, lend a hand, and give advice anytime. We’re so glad we had the opportunity to work with Feel Better Farm and give some animals a second lease on life, and look forward to doing it again one day!
This is a great rescue group. They care about the animals and always attempt to do what is best for them
Want to see the best of humanity???? Look no further than Feel Better Farm and Equine Rescue! Their passion and commitment to rescuing the animals that have literally been thrown away is inspiring… the kind of thing that makes you want to be a better person.
I had a person that boarded her horse at the barn where we had our horse and due to some financial situation and Personal Family Issues she was having to move to another state and could not afford to take her horse or continue to pay for her care. I reached out to Feel Better Farm to see if they would be willing to take in the horse so that she would not have to put down ( she is an older horse with has no serious health Issues, it wouldn't be fair to put her down ) Feel Better Farm agreed to take her into their rescue and I arranged for myself and another person to foster this beautiful girl. She is doing great and doesn't have to worry about going to auction or ending up on a bad situation. Thank You Feel Better Farm for being there for all of these animals.
If you've ever loved an animal, then you'll feel welcome at Feel Better Farm. Sarah and the crew really do their best, almost making you feel like you've been rescued yourself. They tend to take many cases that no one else wants, seeking only to provide their wards with a lifetime home where they can rest and recover. It doesn't matter what time of day or night, Feel Better Farm always answers the call to help whether it be with seizures or owner surrenders. Even if they come across an uncommon animal they have no experience with, they rise to the occasion, seeking our qualified volunteers and fosters to help fill in the knowledge gaps. They then turn around and use that knowledge to help educate children and adults alike at events, or hosting them on the farm. They're truly a treasure, and a place where any animal or human can go to feel better, forever.
I have know Sarah long before her rescue became a reality. Her love of animals has always been apparent. A little story that is recent. A draft horse was posted for free to a good home very close to me, this is never a good thing when it's free. I immediately contacted Sarah and she is now taking this very lucky draft into her rescue. Sarah and her rescue take in the unwanted, starved and abused, the world is a much better place because of her rescue. Feel Better Farm is an amazing place.
There are few people out there, that give the time, heart and effort that I've seen Feel Better give their rescues/residents over the past 3 years. I've had the honor of working with two of their horses and knowing that they've gone from rescues to riding partners makes me happy beyond belief. I'm happy to lend a hand whenever I can as I believe in their mission, and I've seen first hand how they truly try to bestow second chances on the sick, lame, downtrodden and forgotten.
The team at Feel Better Farm is truly top-notch with their animal care. They appreciate each individual animal for what they have been through and make sure that their lives are transformed through thoughtful care and love. The animals' personalities blossom under their care and I am so thankful that Sarah devotes her time and effort to improving these lives.
Although I had been a long time horse person, two years ago I was asked to save a young steer from slaughter. Sully was a sweet boy but sadly had tons of health issues. He lived happily with me and another rescue steer I had found with the help of Feel Better Farm for about a year and a half. Finally last summer it came to the point we could no longer keep Sully comfortable . He could barely walk even with medication. His buddy Mike was frustrated as well since he had no one to graze and play with. I called Feel Better Farm the afternoon Sully was to be humanly euthanized for help with Mike. He had already become bored and destructive and would be miserable alone! Sarah found him a perfect foster close by with two friends he could run and play with and acres of grass. She couldn’t have been more helpful in finding him the best situation!
We adopted two thoroughbred mares, Lady and Midnight from Feel Better Farm. Sarah was honest about both girls and has kept up to date and provided support since their adoption. 100% recommend adopting and/or supporting them. They have been amazing to work with
My husband and I had the opportunity to stay for a few days at the Feel Good Farm in July. I was blown away by the care and attention given to the animals that live there.
The process of rising early, fixing feed for different species, carrying hay bags, etc., administering medication and giving love was overwhelming.
The animals seemed so comfortable in their enclosures. They would come to the fencing to receive pats and encouragement from the keepers.
I support this non- profit farm for many reasons. The number one reason is the atmosphere surrounding the farm. Love, nurture, professionalism, and total care is exhibited from sun up to sun down. It was quite an experience for me!
Feel Better Farm works tirelessly to rescue and rehab horses and other farm animals in Virginia. They are a permanent home for dozens of animals and also work to find foster and permanent homes for many of the animals in their care.
I have personally seen the transformation these animals undergo with proper veterinary care and nutrition and I continue to be impressed daily by the good work that Feel Better Farm is able to do with the help of donations from their supporters!
I started volunteering at the farm shortly after they rescued a large number of animals from a seizure case. During the volunteer orientation you could tell that Sarah puts her heart and soul into caring for these animals. She knows every animals story, the good and the bad. It truly takes a village to care for and rehabilitate these animals. As with most rescues, Feel Better Farm has many plans/ideas to improve the farm and make things even better for the animals and the day to day operations of the farm. With your support they will be able make these improvements.
I am a foster for Feel Better Farm. They do absolutely everything possible for horses in their care. I foster a gelding who came in with a possibly fatal leg injury. Luckily it healed up and he is a happy boy today. This rescue saved his life, he has had quite a few health issues and they provided all the vet care he needed without question. He’s still overcoming some issues but is the sweetest most grateful horse. This rescue takes in horses that no one else will step up for and saves them from miserable lives and death. I cannot say enough good things about them. I’ve worked with many rescue groups for various animals over the years and they are top notch.
My 15 year old son who struggles with ADHD and the social and emotional challenges that come along with it has come to think of Feel Better farm as his happy and safe place. Under the warm and welcoming support of the owners, through my son’s volunteer work he has gained such a sense of pride for his part in their mission, an intensified love and respect of animals while helping them heal in ways he too needs to heal.
While the intended mission is to love and care for our beloved four legged friends, they have expanded their mission, as far as our family is concerned, to also help a child in need of rescuing. Albeit an unintended consequence, one that will forever have an impact on our son’s life.
Feel Better Farm has been a safe haven for animals of all kinds. With an incredible support team and volunteers, the animals that find their way to Feel Better find nothing but love and ready hands to help with whatever is needed. They have my support and my respect for all that they do!
We are both regular volunteers as well as current fosters for Feel Better Farm. They do an amazing job both in our local community and helping farther away. We have truly enjoyed working with Sarah and Jason as they are not only dedicated animal advocates, but knowledgeable and kind people who always go the extra mile.
Feel Better Farm helped me with a situation that was altogether heartbreaking and difficult. They opened their farm and hearts to an animal that I could no longer take care of, but who deserved a good long life. I am so thankful for their willingness to give her a home!
Feel Better Farm is an amazing animal rescue group. I have adopted four animals from them so far and would absolutely adopt from them again. They are easy to work with and made transport a breeze. They care so deeply about the animals, and want to make sure that they are not only getting adopted, but that they are healthy before going to the best place for them.
