I have had the honor of watching Lauren & Jason grow as a sanctuary from their first rescue of Fawn & Basil. They would never take in more than they could care for so they could give each individual the love and care that they needed. To this day they will not take in a rescue that they can not care for in the way they need/deserve. They take in rescues who are differently abled, time stamped, 3 legged, diabetics, seniors, severe neglect and abused cases, they foster "unadoptable" dogs with past trama and socialize them and can place them in wonderful loving homes, foster kittens and most selflessly check in with other sanctuaries to see if they need help with chores, emotional support or supplies. Fawns Fortress is run the way a sanctuary should be. A place of love, respect for all living sentient beings, and peace. I am in awe continually at the work that is done here. Try to attend one of their many events, you will meet all of the rescues and have a wonderful memorable time. I have joined their patreon for instant updates, upcoming events, newsletters, exclusive photos, fun contests and giveaways and detailed information on each rescue all the while financially helping them to continue to save lives to make a much needed difference in this world.
Fawn's Fortress is a beautiful animal sanctuary ran by some very caring people. They are so welcoming and every donation goes directly to the rescued animals.
i love being a part of Fawn’s Fortress for many reasons. the dedication, hard work, time, and effort that is put into making sure every animal lives their best life possible is evident when you see them. you don’t have to see them in person to recognize this either. even through social media the exceptional care comes through the screen, but if you’re lucky enough to live nearby and get to visit, you will find that the animals always have the freshest hay, clean water despite the weather conditions, shelter, and love. the basics are always covered, and then it goes above and beyond that. Fawn’s Fortress believes in transparency, and vet bills and nonprofit expenses are always posted for donors and supporters to see. donors always know what they’re donating towards. i also love being a part of FF because the quality of each resident’s life is the priority- not consistently taking in new animals. finally, Lauren, the founder, is a genuinely kind and caring person inside and outside of the sanctuary. in the event that the sanctuary gets a surplus of donations, Lauren extends the generosity and shares / donates to other nonprofits. she is always learning and puts her ego aside for the animals in her care. i’m proud to be a part of such a wonderful team.

the animals here are so well cared for and loved, and it’s obvious when you see how they go from extreme abuse, neglect, and suffering to happy, healthy, and flourishing at fawn’s fortress. i’m lucky enough to be able to frequently visit and get close to the rescue animals and have an inside look on FF’s standards. even if you’re not able to go to the sanctuary in person, maybe because you live too far, everyone can take comfort in knowing donations are going to a great cause thanks to FF’s transparency to supporters and donors on social media. i’d trust FF with all of my babies, which is saying a lot. incredible organization doing amazing things.
Fawn's Fortress is the absolute PLATINUM STANDARD in animal rescue! Lauren and Jason have devoted their lives to caring for animals who have literally gone through hell on Earth. They are meticulous in their habitats, they buy the best food, even though it's pricey, and they are uber diligent about healthcare. And all of this is done as volunteers. They take NO pay out of money donated to the rescue.
Time after time we're seeing "rescues" that are horrific scams, but Fawn's Fortress is completely transparent about where the money goes. When they take in an animal they are devoted to them for the rest of their lives, no matter how much work it is or how much money it costs for feed, shelter,
& medical care. And they always post bills & receipts to prove their character.

Fawns Fortress is an example of what sanctuary is, and should be. It's a place where animals who were neglected, abused, or exploited can go to live as naturally as possible while receiving medical care that's needed for a healthy life. Their environment is filled with enrichment and not a place they have to endure the desire of humans, but can exist in peace. I've visited several times by invitation and it's a little piece of heaven in the pines. Clean, quiet, and just filled with the sounds of the animals and nature! A true example of what sanctuary/rescue is. I'm so happy they are here in our community.
Let Fawn’s Fortress set the example as to what all sanctuaries should be. Lauren and Jason lead with compassion, empathy, strength, and grit and there is not an ounce of selfishness between them. This is an amazing and beautiful place Im going to call it heaven on Earth, I've known Lauren and Jason for years these are two of the most kind and humble human beings to ever walk this earth, fawns fortress is much more than an animal sanctuary it's probably one of the most pure and adored establishments in South Jersey, from the moment my feet touched the floor I knew love thrived here, I watched them build this place from ground up literally fulfilling their dreams and capturing their own slice of the American one, all of animals here are loved respected and treated amazingly you can see it with their interactions. I thank them wholeheartedly for creating a place where animals could feel safe as well as unconditional love
Fawns Fortress Animal Sanctuary is simply amazing! Long story short, my partner and I rescued a chicken tied to a tree in Camden, NJ, in the summer of 2024. She was being held until someone was supposed to pick her up and slaughter her to eat. We never had chickens, didn't have a proper place for her but we weren't going to leave her. We begged and the man released her to us before the other person arrived who was going to slaughter her. We were referred to Fawns Fortress and they didn't hesitate to take her, we trusted this sanctuary from the beginning, we knew she'd be safe. When we brought her to the sanctuary one of the things that made me love this place is Lauren already had a name picked out for her, which was Peaches, and was getting a bath ready for her. From that moment you could feel every single animal there is treated like family. Peaches wasn't going to just be a number, she would be part of their family. Peaches was very skinny, now she's so healthy, thriving and literally loves life at Fawns Fortress. This sanctuary really goes above and beyond, they run this place with their HEART, you can feel it, and you can see how happy all of the animals are. We'll be forever thankful to them!

Fawn’s Fortress is an amazing animal sanctuary in South Jersey. They rescue and take care of farm animals, as well as cats and dogs. The owners, Lauren and Jason, spend so much time and effort and care to make sure each of their animals is super well taken care of and living their best lives. On top of it all, they also do dog boarding/dog sitting sometimes. They often watch our dog Kai and he’s a very shy and anxious boy. This is the first place we’ve taken him that he actually shows enthusiasm about returning to! Fawn’s Fortress also has volunteer opportunities every Sunday if anyone wants to meet the sweet animals and help around the sanctuary with daily chores. Lauren is also super active on their Instagram account, very transparent about all the animals’ care and constantly fundraising to ensure the animals are always well supported.
I've known a lot of people who started their own sanctuaries, and the love and care that the Fawn's Fortress team provides for these animals is unmatched. Their deep empathy and commitment to providing a beautiful life to animals who might not otherwise have one is a constant source of inspiration and admiration. Thank you for all that you do!
It's officially been 4 years now since our inauguration into the animal sanctuary world and it has been an amazing journey. It has been wonderful to be a part of the growth of such a solid sanctuary. No year has been without growth, whether in our family or in our personal experiences, and so far, no year has been the same as the last. Thank you to any and all who have ever supported us.
This non-profit is an absolute gem. I’ve never met anyone who cares so deeply & always does right for these animals as Lauren and Jason do. They give everything they have to this sanctuary and we are so lucky to have them in the community. Our area lacks farm vets - any farm vet is 40 minutes away. Having fawns fortress so close is a cherished resource. If something ever happens to our animals or we have any questions or needs - Lauren and Jason always know what to do. We are so lucky that this animal sanctuary exists. Thank you!!! This work is not easy, and they do it so well.
Fawn Fortress is truly a sanctuary for animals. The animals are always well taken care of no matter what the weather is like outside. Lauren is extremely transparent with what she does and always willing to share her knowledge and experience. I’m always amazed at the effort they put into this place and I’m glad to be a part of it.
The best people and the most magical animals. We love Lauren and Jason and all that they do. The volunteers were all amazing, taking time to answer our questions and sharing how much they enjoy working with the animals and being apart of the fortress community.

I had never boarded my dog before, but I had a vacation I couldn't bring him on. He's very active and attached to people, so I didn't like the idea of a traditional kennel, where he'd be in a small fenced in area for most of the time. I found Fawn's Fortress through a friend, and it was such a great experience for my dog! He lived in the house with them as part of the family, and had plenty of fun and exercise. He was obsessed with Lauren and was glued to her side! I got lots of pictures and videos and could enjoy my vacation knowing Ranger was right at home. During my visits, I got to see the whole property, and how well all of the sanctuary animals were cared for! Highly recommend supporting Fawn's Fortress!

It is beyond a pleasure and a privilege to know and support all of the beautiful souls associated with this sanctuary. When I think of a true rescue sanctuary, Fawn’s Fortress is what comes to mind. Lauren and Jason truly focus on peace, love, and veganism and their values shine through in everything they do. I can not wait to see what other amazing work they do in the future to help animals and the environment as a whole.
It's so peaceful, and beautiful in each season, I always look forward to visiting everyone enjoying there forever home. The events throughout the seasons are always tons of fun.
Fawns Fortress is my favorite place to go. Lauren and her partner Jason work extremely hard to make sure every animal is taken care for and loved. They saved every single one of their animals and make daily sacrifices to make sure they have the best life they could possibly have. They've given love and cared for animals that others thew away, sent to slaughter, or just had a short time on earth. No matter the case, they make sure every animal gets what they need. I'm so proud of what they have accomplished so far and can't wait to see what's in store for the future. They also hold multiple events a year, each unique and beautiful, so make sure you grab a ticket before they're gone!
I've followed and supported this magical sanctuary for awhile now and had the extreme pleasure of visiting for a couple of days this past Oct. Being there in person only confirmed what I already knew in that the level of care given to everyone was beyond exemplary. I first came to know Fawn’s Fortress through social media. I was drawn to their candid stories and raw sharing of the good and not-so-good parts of running an animal sanctuary. Upon visiting, we were so impressed by the level of cleanliness and care of all the animals and their living spaces. Our pup Winston now goes there for play days and boarding giving us peace knowing he’s part of their family when we’re not home. He even knows where he’s going the moment we make a certain turn in the car and squeals in excitement.
I commend Lauren and Jason for all they do day in and day out to care for their animals. We’re humbled by their dedication and honored to call them friends.

One of my favorite sanctuaries in New Jersey! They put so much thought into everything they do for the animals. I also love their complete transparency when it comes to where they apply fundraiser money.
I started following this incredible rescue when they stepped in to help a neighboring rescue with an absolute disaster. The amount of trauma the folks here went through to sort through a literal nightmare that a different rescue had left was shocking. I don't honestly know how they soldiered through. But Lauren and Jason did. And, I became a monthly donor as a result. Lauren and Jason do the REAL work of rescue, and never let the heartbreak that comes with it from stopping them.
Their mission is to save animals and give them the kind of loving care all animals deserve, and it's been my privilege to watch from afar as they do just that.
One day, I hope to pop over and help. For now, I watch from 3,000 miles away, cheering them on as they do the hard work that is required to love and support the deserving animals in their care.

Having visited this sanctuary in person, I can say with absolute certainty that the care these animals receive is absolutely top tier. I put my 100% trust and backing into her work and efforts. When I visited, I was blown away by the exceptional standard of care these animals receive. The animals are happy, healthy, incredibly well taken care of, and are clearly very happy and comfortable in their environment. The founder of this sanctuary has put her heart and soul into the care of these animals, and would sacrifice all of herself to give them the best standard of care. Their living area is clean and safe for them, they are very comfortable and she makes sure every animal has a comfortable place to fit their preferences and personality, they can simply be with no worries. She is welcoming to visitors and completely 100 percent about all the animals progress, where donations go and what they are used for, medical journeys, etc and is overall running a wonderful, caring, gentle sanctuary for animals to live happy and carefree.

This is by far one of the best farm animal sanctuaries out there. The people who run it are 2 of the most compassionate and dedicated individuals. They are out in all weather... sunshine, rains, snow, etc. Lauren and her team will literally do anything for the animals in their care and it shows. They are very well cared for and so happy and stress free.
The Sanctuary itself has such a magical vibe. I treasure each time I've been able to come visit and spend time with the animals.
