Mission: Reduction of poverty through skills acquisition and community development for the People of Odigie, Agbede in Etsako West Local Government of Edo State Nigeria.
Vision
To create an environment where every willing individual of Odigie and its environs will have the opportunity for the acquisition of education, skills, and expertise that enable self-reliance. The activities of this Foundation will start from the people of Odigie and will be gradually extended to the surrounding communities like Agbede, Egho, Avuele, and Ubiane.
Goals and Objectives:
Immediate Goals and Objectives
1. Assistance to the very poor and elderly in Odigie and its environs in meeting up with their regular needs for feeding, care, and maintenance.
2. Assistance to all children of school age whose parents are not able to afford the requirements for school such as books, fees, and other necessary school needs.
3. Assistance to underprivileged children of Secondary School Age who are not able to afford the cost of transitions to college such as fees for examination like JAMB, school certificate, college entrance, WAEC, GCE.
4. Assistance to eligible University and Polytechnic Students who have difficulties meeting up with the costs of continuing with their education.
5. Establishment of skills acquisition programs such as tailoring, bakery, carpentry, and other noncapital intensive skills for interested indigenes of Odigie and environs to learn the required skills towards self-reliance.
6. Helping to provide the seed capital for the self-reliant establishment of skill-based small scale enterprises for those who attain the necessary skills such as sewing machine for those who have acquired the skills through the program or those who have acquired the skills from elsewhere but are unable to start the practice of their skills. 7. Assistance to small-scale farmers and tradesmen in their various trades in order to become self-reliant individuals. (Inform of interest-free loans as seed money
Intermediate and Long-term goals
1. Establishment of a medium-scale commercial bakery at Odigie to provide baked goods and other items prepared from farm products around the area. This will include in addition to normal baked goods, products like plantain chips, cocoyam chips, chin-chin, and all such things that can be processed from the farm products of the area.
Results: 1. Provision for 30 elderly, poor, and disabled with monthly stipends to meet basic needs especially for food of at least one meal a day to avoid or alleviate the impact of the starvation they face on a daily basis.
2. 35 youths trained in skills acquisition training.
3. Provided water supply with borehole for a remote rural community.
4. Built and equipped classrooms for skills acquisition training in tailoring, hair, and barbering shop.
5. Built a structure for a bakery where locally sourced farm produce will be turned into baked and preserved products for the benefit of the communities. The production of products from locally sourced farm produce will be in addition to the production of common baked products like bread, cakes, etc. Efforts are currently being made to equip the bakery with necessary equipment as funds become available.
Target demographics: The poor, elderly, and disabled; help children of poor families with education and skills acquisition training.
