Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Fathers building futures mission is to initiate formerly incarcerated fathers who are committed to financial stability for their families through developing their personal and profession potential. With a vision of true freedom for all parents, this project has been inspired by the courageous men who have, and who will continue to, overcome obstacles in order to succeed as providers for their children and community.
Programs: During 2016, a business advisory team transitioned into the project's board of directors and worked closely with pb&j to transition into its own nonprofit. - 12 formerly incarcerated parents are employed as lead staff and supervisors. - create a pipeline for a minimum of 50 fathers returning home from prison and jail to recieve nacessary soft skills and training to ensure successfull employement and reenty back to their home and comunity. - 24 of the targeted 50 have been enrolled. Of the 24: 4 graduated into permanent employement, 5 have been promoted and hired permanently with fathers building futures, 12 are still enroled as participants in the program, 4 recidivted for violations of their probation/parole. - board of directors has been established, an ein number received and fbf's 501c-3 application is complete.
