FamilyPoint saved me from the Kardashians!
I retired the Spring of 2009 and knew I wanted to try working with FamilyPoint's after-school program in the fall. I did not have much planned for the summer of 2009, so I watched a lot of daytime cooking shows on TV but eventually burned out on them. Then I started lowering my already minimal TV standards and even watched a few episodes of the Kardashians before school started up in the fall.
I have been able to grow with FamilyPoint; last year I joined their advisory board. Their programs enrich all aspects of a child's life -athletic, academic, cultural and social - and the volunteer's lives are equally enriched.
(FamilyPoint probably saved me from Jerry Springer too.)

So many great examples of young lives that have been helped by FamilyPoint. The organization helps these kids with homework help, sports programs, arts programs and activities that were previously inaccessible to this community.

Family Point has been investing in families in Nottingham for over a decade. I have been coaching and mentoring through Family Point since shortly after it started. It truly cares about the entire child, and becomes an aid to the families through mentoring, education and sports programs. I can't recommend this non-profit enough for anyone interested in investing in a community and providing stability and progress for kids and their families.

My daughters and I have been volunteering at Family Point for four years now. It is an amazing organization. It supports our community with safe, after school activities for students who really need it. It touches the lives of these families by supporting their children in a kind and inspiring way. They help the students shine by providing academic help, participation in sports teams and fun afternoons with their friends and caring volunteers. Words cannot express how great they have been during Hurricane Harvey. Employees and volunteers have been in he trenches cleaning out flooded homes, and supporting workers with supplies and food. They continue to encourage supporting those families who had to relocate and are rebuilding. Their leadership is a true example for all non profits in our area.

Family Point is an absolutely amazing organization! Between seventh and twelfth grade I spent many afternoons playing with kids and helping with homework and other activities. I learned so much from Stephanie and Jason and Brandon and other adults and the kids themselves about how to form relationships with kids and honestly consider volunteering there to be one of the most formative factors of my childhood. For the kids and families who are helped by family point through, that doesn't even scratch the service. If you are unsure whether this organization is deserving of you money or time, I have no qualms offering a definite yes!

Family Point meets a great need in our community. It provides kids with a place to go and people to love on them. What I love the most is the connections it helps create through study, fun, fitness, sport and companionship. I have personally been involved with the Cross Country/Track program as a coach. This program has exploded and is now bringing kids from all around the west Houston area. Brandon Stribling has developed an amazing, first class team. I am so blessed to be part of this community where people come together to connect for positive. Thanks Family Point!!!

Family Point Resources has my heart. If I ask myself who is receiving the service when I visit FPR, I know that I gain more from being there than I could ever give.

I am inspired by the people who work there and visit there. The staff is so KIND and THOUGHTFUL in their approach and interactions with the community. There is the most "can do" attitude there of any organization I have ever seen. I am amazed by what they accomplish, with CARE and LOVE and HARD WORK and INCLUSIVITY.

Youth are welcome to volunteer there, which is great for a family looking to serve.

Visit FPR, donate, volunteer. You will be glad you did, and you will be changed for the better, and change someone else's life for the better.

FamilyPoint has changed our lives completely and it continues to do so in many magnificent ways. As a single mother of 4 and with one income, I used to wondered and worried how I could help myself and my girls. It was when my second youngest daughter of 7yrs old says to me one day: "I have no friends, my life is boring and my life has no meaning I just want to die!" It was in that moment that I realized I needed to get her involved into sports, activities and clubs so that she could interact with other kids like herself and help her to enjoy life by staying busy playing, learning and simply by being surrounded by more people that love her as much as I do! That's when FamilyPoint saved her and my family! It was through a word of a family, then a neighbor and then a stranger that FamilyPoint became known to us. It opened its doors without question without hesitation. It offered us friendship, help, knowledge and most importantly it gave us unconditional love. I began to volunteer to give back what I couldn't afford to pay when signing up all four of my girls to soccer, basketball, art camps, sewing camps and the list goes on and on. I was so happy to use my vacation time from my 8-5pm job so that I could volunteer once a week at FamilyPoint. I felt so happy to be able to give back to FamilyPoint what they have been given to me from day One! And now not only am I a parent and a volunteer but I am truly blessed to say I am part of FamilyPoint as a staff member. I have always dreamed of having a big family and my dream has finally come true with all the kids, parents, volunteers, donors and the rest of the staff here I can truly say I am finally home at FamilyPoint ❣️

Family Point Resources and everyone who works there genuinely carec about the community and the families they serve. Our community couldn't function without their services and programs. I've seen this organization in action for several years and it has truly changed lives. Children in our community will forever be positively impacted because of FPR. They are passionate about the work they do and lovingly serve and care for many families no matter the race, religion, or political viewpoint. I personally know several children who would be on a much different track in life without this organization in our community. Everyone feels safe and loved at FPR.

FPR is a philanthropy that my daughter and I serve through our National Charity League. This is how I was first introduced. We planned holiday parties and assisted in homework after school. I have since volunteered during the summer program with my daughter and most recently brought my son in to share some of his strengths with the children.
FPR offers many resources to underprivileged families in our neighborhood. love, friendship and fun are just a few.
During the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, FPR opened their doors for activities for the children while the schools were closed.

Family Point Resources is a fantastic organization that does so much to help children and adults in the community. I am a volunteer and client. My children attend FPR after school. FPR provides loads of activities, clubs, and tutoring, all with the help of amazing leaders and volunteers. I see the children arrive, they are happy, in a safe environment and know that they are valued by everyone there. Many do not want to leave at the end of the day, as its such fun, and they learn so much there as well, it is very beneficial to the whole community.

FPR does SO much for the kids in the Nottingham Park Area. They really care about the well being of the children in their care. After school care, Tutoring, Summer Camps, Art, Theater, Sports Teams...the list goes on and on. FamilyPoint is so much for than a non-profit serving those in need, it's more like joining a family!

Family Point Resources has made an incredible difference in our community. I am a teacher at a local high school. Many of my students are able to take advantages of the programs for underprivileged families. Some of our students are volunteering there as well. Our families know that we can count on Family Point to partner with us to help meet the needs of our diverse community .
