Mission: ESTABLISHED IN 1879, FAMILY SERVICES IS A WELL RESPECTED HUMAN SERVICE AGENCY WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF SERVING THE CITIZENS OF THE HUDSON VALLEY. THE OVERARCHING MISSION OF THE AGENCY IS TO IMPROVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY; HELPING PEOPLE HELP THEMSELVES. PRESENTLY, OVER 7500 PERSONS ANNUALLY RECEIVE DIRECT INTERVENTION SERVICES AND ANOTHER 100,000 RECEIVE EDUCATION AROUND PREVENTING SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND INTERPERSONAL VIOLENCE. ALL PROGRAMS DEMONSTRATE MEASURABLE BENEF ITS TO CONSUMERS.
Programs: Domestic violence services of dutchess county responded to more than 3,500 hotline calls from victims in crisis. More than 1,100 victims of domestic violence were referred by police to our domestic abuse response team advocates, 54 domestic violence victims assessed as high risk for homicide, accepted and received services. Over 700 students in dutchess county learned about the dynamics of domestic violence, teen dating violence, and healthy relationships.
the relapse intervention for sex crimes (risc) program is a community-based treatment program providing evaluation and treatmentservices for adult male and female sex offenders to address sexual offending behavior and psycho- educationnal groups for non-offending family members. Risc is part of dutchess county's containment approach to managing sex offenders in the community. The containment approach looks to keep the community safe by reducing sex offender recidivism through intensive supervision and treatment, such as that offered by the risc program. In 2014, risc served 113 offenders and six non-offending family members. Risc offered seven weekly therapy groups for male offenders and one weekly group for non- offending relatives. Additionally, two female offenders received weekly individual sessions.
the family partnership center is a multi-tenant non-profit center providing safe and accessible facilities to educational, health and human service providers and the populations they serve. In 2014, more than 15 providers were housed at the center, serving thousands of dutchess county residents. Clients are able to access a variety of services in one location, and collaborative approaches to serving those in need are enhanced. Recent information gathered from tenants indicates that more than 70,000 client visits are provided annually.
