Mission: The Family Resource Network, Inc. Mission Statement:
Individuals with special needs deserve every opportunity to achieve their unique potential. The Family Resource Network was founded by parents to enhance the lives of individuals with special needs and their families, empowering them to lead productive independent lives within the community.
We want to make our community a better place through education and the enlisting of our citizens to bring services to those in need. We accomplish our mission through our core values.
We have been a vital part of our community for a number of years. We were founded to serve a growing segment of our community in need of inaccessible services. We have continued to grow with the help of our donors and volunteers that make our mission possible. Through all these years our purpose still remains the same: bring services to those in need.
Programs: Coordinated Childrens Servies Initiative (Otsego & Chenango Counties), Residential Family Advocates (Elmwood Community Residence, Boys of Courage Community Residence, & Stillwater Residential Treatment Facility), Special Education Parent Center, Resource Center, Information & Referral, Autism Training Program, Support to Community Groups, Advocacy Program, Teen Scene Youth Group, and Dragon Dates (Social Skills Program for Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders)
I am proud to represent this agency as the Executive Director and feel that there have been major positive changes in the last few months that will eventually lead to more families being served, more information getting dispersed and more people feeling empowered!!! All of the staff here are commited to serve our families and will help them in any way we can.
I support the Family Resource Network, Inc. by donating funds to the Hartwick Hill Race, which is a fundraiser for the Anemarie Wenck Resource Fund. The AMWRF is a terrific fund that is available to assist families who have a child with a disability with out of pocket expenses that are not covered by insurance (ex. travel expenses to distant hospitals, summer camps, therapies not covered by insurance). I think this is a great resource for local families and I will continue to support it!
