Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Homeless & Housing, Homeless Centers, Human Services
Mission: We are a united community helping stabilize and transform children and their families experiencing homelessness in beaverton. Our main focus is to help our future guest families get back into permanent, sustainable housing and employment as quickly as possible. While in our program, guests will receive food, shelter, and comprehensive support services. Guest's families will also have the opportunity to develop enduring life skills through individualized case management by staff and through personal mentoring by volunteers.
Programs: The activities of 2017 focused mainly on establishing community partnerships needed to support the launch of this program. We worked in connecting to and making relationships within the community. We engaged 12 organizations, mostly churches, city community centers, and recreational centers to become host locations for our families. We also made connections with five churches to be support to our host locations. Another relationship we worked on was with the business community for fundraising and support. We also spent some time making a solid relationship and partnership with the city of beaverton.
