Family House has four locations in Pittsburgh, and works with patients of local hospitals (especially UPMC Oakland, Shadysie, etc.). I have volunteered at Neville Family House and Shadyside Family House multiple times, making dinner or baking for the residents (which are patients in the hospital and their family members). Each house had super-nice kitchen facilities and recreational rooms, as well as friendly staff. Our volunteering was pretty significant, since many residents only have enough time/energy for microwave meals, and several people expressed their appreciation of our work. :) It was also fun to hang out with them, and for them to hear from "young people" like us. :)
