Mission: The mission of family foundations is growing strong, money-wise families. Growing: we teach and train. Strong: we nurture and counsel people so they are able to develop devoted, loving families who know how to communicate with each other. Money-wise: we want everyone to be wise when it comes to money. Too often people have never been taught how to handle their finances. Familes: we strive to do everyhing in our power to keep all families together, so they can contribute towards a stronger comunity. Everyone - every household, every business, every family - needs to be wise about money. We provide tools, skills, support and solutions because every child deserves to grow up in a financially fit family.
Programs: Clinical counseling - family foundations is the only community based organization in northeast florida providing individual and family counseling at no cost to them or a nominal fee. People wothout or with limited health insurance cannot afford to seek private practitioners for mental health counseling.
financial counseling - our certified financial counselors help meet their financial goals by taking a comprehensive look at their income, expenses, debts and assets. Every client develops a personal action plan with their counselor to manage their money to meet their goals, such as getting out of debt or saving for a down payment for a home of their own.
our asset building program is named 1,000 in 1,000 - designed to move 1,000 people out of poverty every 1,000 days. The 1,000 in 1,000 program has been tested in jacksonville amd moves families to self-sufficiency by building social, human and financial assets. Assets are often thought of strictly financial in nature. Family foundations takes an intentionally broad view of assets, which we define as: social assets - taking care of children and having relationships with others, human assets - assets to attain knowledge, skills, and abilities to earn adequate income, and financial assets - assets to effectively manage money and build wealth.
