Causes: Mental Health, Substance Abuse Treatment
Mission: Improve the quality of life for individuals, families & communities by helping people to make positive changes in their lives & empowering them to make healthy and effective choices. We strive (continued on schedule o) to do this by providing professional therapy, treament, community support and educational services in a physically and psychologically safe environment which enhances self-esteem. We are committed to the principle that all persons who need treatment should receive high quality services, regardless of ability to pay.
Programs: The three residential drug and alcohol treatment centers have a combined capacity of fifty-two beds with additional outpatient services. During fiscal year 2009, we served 1,199 clients in these facilities. The five outpatient offices provide drug and alcohol and mental health counseling. During fiscal year 2009, we served 2,669 clients at these locations; a large majority of these clients were low to middle income and had services that were partially subsidized by city and state government, (continued on schedule o) the united way or donations. We provide outreach to communities in twenty counties to assist them in developing and implementing prevention programs designed to reduce smoking, drug use and problematic drinking. Adolescents in grades seven through twelve are a primary focus for this program.
