Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Mental Health, Mental Health Treatment
Mission: Family & Children's Service of Ithaca supports, promotes, and strengthens the well-being of individuals and families by providing high-quality, accessible mental health care and related social services, with a particular sensitivity toward the needs of children.
Target demographics: Families and individuals at all life-stages. F&CS is the only provider of mental health services to children 5 years old and under and serves the largest number of children ages 17 years old and under in Tompkins County.
Geographic areas served: Tompkins County, NY
Programs: High quality, affordable, comprehensive psychological and psychiatric assistance for children, adults, families, and seniors; crisis counseling for children and their families; caregiver counseling and geriatric mental health services; workplace crisis support and counseling; as well as community based programming for at-risk youth, support services for kinship caregivers (family members who foster vulnerable children), and community outreach to support downtown Ithaca.
