Mission: Our Mission The Mission of the Family Caregiver Alliance is to support and assist caregivers through education, services, research and advocacy. Our Values Respect: We believe caregivers, their families and to the extent possible, the adult care receiver, should be the decision makers in planning care. Options: We are committed to increasing the range of choices available to families to suit their particular situations. Quality: We are committed to quality and to providing the best of what's available, through timely, prompt service, well-trained staff and up-to-date information. Innovation: We strive to find new and better approaches by creating partnerships between research and service. Diversity: We are committed to serving the diverse and changing population of caregivers. Collaboration: We form partnerships with other organizations and agencies to further our mutual aims. Efficiency: We seek to use our resources to the fullest, waste nothing and stand ready to account for what we do.
Target demographics: Family members, partners and friends caring for older adults.
Geographic areas served: FCA has a Local, Statewide and National reach. Information and consultation is provided to family caregivers, policy makers, health and service providers, the media, program developers and funders. An array of community based services is provided to residents of the SF Bay Area.
Programs: The NCC sponsors the Family Care Navigator to help caregivers locate support services in their communities. FCA also oversees Link2Care, an Internet support and information system for clients of California's system of Caregiver Resource Centers and operates the Bay Area Caregiver Resource Center in the six-county San Francisco Bay Area. In that capacity, FCA staff social workers work closely with families caring for ill or elderly loved ones. We manage caregiving workshops, respite retreats and publish caregiving related newsletters for public education.
