Causes: Hot Lines & Crisis Intervention, Mental Health, Suicide Prevention
Mission: To empower families to live safe, non-violent lives by providing supportive services that reaffirms the right to quality of life and basic human dignity and to advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault through collaboration,community education and training.
Programs: Program services consist of the following: (1) 24 hour crisis/support lines - provide emotional support, need assessments, identification of options and assist with obtaining emergency safe shelter, (2) individual counseling & support - confidential counseling to walk-ins and by appointment; youth counselors also available, (3) educational support groups - meet weekly, (4) empowerment courses - topics including self-discovery and self-image, communication skills, stress and money management, (5) youth education - teach violence prevention at local schools, (6) community education - professional trainings are offered to law enforcement, medical & social service providers; also attentd health and educational fairs, and (7) court advocacy - court advocates provide support and assistance to victims.
