Mission: Families Like Ours supports all families who want to adopt or foster children in a safe, caring and loving environment. The best way to describe the need Families Like Ours fills is directly from the families we support: "I want to praise your organization! My partner and I adopted three children this year, we are a male couple and we had no support and couldn?t find any information that would assist us in our process. I have since found your organization and am delighted." Our programs and services are designed to advocate for adoptive families, increase adoption awareness and help reduce the number of adoptable children in foster-care by providing a centralized resource for support, information and training to adoptive families and professionals. Although our services and programs have a strong focus on Gay and Lesbian adoptive families, they are designed to work with all families regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, age, disability or ethnic background.
Target demographics: advocate and support pre and post adoptive, foster families and foster youth.
