Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: Families helping families of southeast louisiana, inc. Is a nonprofit corporation, operating primarily in orleans parish, organized to provide informational support and educational services to area families who have family members with special needs (disabilities) through a coordinated network of resources, support and services. The primary sources of revenue are from federal, state and local grants.
Programs: During the fiscal year 2016-2017 we have accomplished the following: provided approximately 3000 individuals with disabilities, family members, professionals in the fields of human services and public policy, and members of the general public with information and referral on available services and supports. Over 6000 pieces of information were requested and sent by our staff to members of the community. Staff attended iep meetings with families and help to educate parents about special education services. We have provided presentations, workshops , and major conferences to the community.
