Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Military & Veterans Organizations, Veterans

Mission: How We Give Back The Fallen Angel Aviator Foundation is a 100% volunteer non profit focused on helping soldier and family. We are a local charity based out of Colorado and we rely on our dedicated men and women who give back their time and skills to ensure our cause provides the most impact to our Fallen Heroes Families. With over 100 volunteers who are mostly in the aviation industry, as well as our corporate sponsors we have made a positive impact in supporting those children, spouses and families left behind due to the loss of their military service member. We identify the gaps in traditional benefits to better support those who have lost so much. One of the projects involved erecting a memorial to honor those airmen who lost their lives on August. 6, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan from the 11th Aviation Command.

Results: The foundation continues to identify much needed support to our Fallen Heroes. We are in coordination with several other well established non-profit military support focused organizations to conduct fundraisers in 2015. Kevin Costner graciously assisted the 11th Aviation Command in raising funds initially for their memorial project. We hope to continue this relationship as we plan our annual Gala in late summer at the ACME Feed and Seed in Nashville, Tennessee. Our Gala will raise funds to honor those who lost their lives in Operation Red Wings, the Task Force 160th MH-47 Chinook “Turbine 33” shot down in Afghanistan 28 June, 2005. The book “Lone Survivor” written by Marcus Luttrell, the lone Navy Seal survivor during the Battle of Abbas Ghar in Afghanistan and later recreated in the movie starring Mark Wahlberg depicts the events leading up to the unthinkable fate of “Turbine 33”. We will donate a portion of the funds raised to The Families of Fallen Night Stalker Organization. As part of our Children’s Fund we will partner with the AirPower Foundation in support of the American Airlines Snowball Express. Our Memorial Fund will finish the 11th Aviation Memorial at Fort Knox Kentucky.

Target demographics: Fallen Soldiers Families & Airmen suffering from PTSD

Direct beneficiaries per year: families fund programs for their children. Raise more funds through events like the one held in Nashville.

Geographic areas served: We are based in Colorado but hold events all across the country.

Programs: Memorial tributes, Memorializing fallen heroes with memorial sites, helping families fund after school events or programs for their children, Any way we can help families of fallen airmen, we are happy to assist. We are also coming up with more programs to help airmen suffering from PTSD.

On December 1, 2014 Capt. Will "Pyro" DuBois was killed in a plane crash on a mission against ISIS in Jordon. He was a badass pilot, and a first class human being. He was from New Castle, Co. A few of us that were close to him, wanted to do something to honor our local HERO. We decided we wanted a 8 ft. Bronze statue of Pyro. We need to raise $100,000. The Town of New Castle helped get the fund started with a nice donation and a spot at one of the local parks where the statue will rest after it dedication on Sept. 10, 2016. We reached out to The Fallen Angel Aviator Foundation for not only a donation, but some help with social media for our fundraising. They far exceeded on both. They have put it on their facebook page, matching donations, they are going to send out press releases, just to mention a few. They have plans for a concert in the fall in Boulder, Co. with the proceeds helping our cause. When their home page on their website says they are there to help the Fallen Angel Aviators, they mean it. It is great to see them not only make a donation, but provide ways to help us achieve our goals. 1st Class Organization. Thanks George for you and all you have done!! www.pyromemorial.org Thanks, John Lee Board Member Pyro Memorial Fund

The Fallen Angel Aviator Foundation is an exceptional organization true to their mission of serving Fallen Aviators, Air Crew Members, Fallen Comrades and their Families. In 2016, Fallen Angel Aviator Foundation graciously donated 100 percent of the funding required to send the surviving Gold Star Children of Fallen Aviators to Gold Star Teen Adventures Foundation programs. Their grant will be used to provide opportunities for the children of Fallen Heroes Chief Warrant Officer 3 Thomas Gibbons, Master Sergeant James Ponder III, Captain Bartt Owens, and Specialist Travis Vaughn. Thank you for your commitment to our Nation’s Warriors and their Families.

The Fallen Angel Aviator Foundation is dedicated to serving our country’s Fallen Aviators, Air Crew Members, Fallen Comrades and their Families. Membership in our foundation is voluntary and allows for our organization to honor Aviators and Air Crew Members who gave their lives in the service of our country. The formation was made possible through a grant from the BOE Foundation, Boulder, Colorado. Mr. George Boedecker and his generous contribution exceeded the sum total of all donations made previously to construct the 11thAviation Command Memorial Project. Mr. Boedecker and his unwavering support to our nation, our military service members and military families reflect great credit upon him and the Boedecker Foundation.
