Faith in Action is amazing!!! If it were not for them, simple things like grocery shopping would be nearly impossible for us to achieve. They are always there for us.
Thank you Faith in Action for all you do in our community!!
Faith In Action is wonderful. This lady can no longer drive. The Volunteers are courteous and helpful since I am on a walker. Can not say enough good things about this organization. The Office Staff is amazing and professional.
Faith in Action Georgetown drivers have given me an enhanced sense of freedom. They are timely, pleasant and always reliable. God has blessed me with their caring and kindness to help others. God bless them all!
I needed a ride to get to the Motor Vehicle office to get my drivers license. My driver was a lovely person, familiar with my community. She was pleasant and drove safely.
My husband and I attended the ice cream social this past summer. It was such fun! We even won a prize. The FIAG volunteers and workers truly care about their clients. The organization is very needed in this area that has limited public transportation. We come from NYC where people can live their entire lives without driving.
Faith in Action in Georgetown, Texas has been an amazing blessing for me. Their drivers are all volunteers who transport me and my walker to my medical treatment appointments. I’m 92 years old and difficulty walking. We get acquainted during the drive and share stories about our lives. I am eternally grateful for their service and loving kindness.
These people do such a great service. I don’t have a car now & paying for Uber & Lift etc., is financially a real burden. The volunteer drivers are pleasant & helpful. I have to use a “walker” & they never complain about getting it into their vehicle. God bless them all.
Faith in Action Georgetown folks are kind and caring. They have provided rides for me when I needed rides for surgeries, and heart procedures. After the heart procedure, they phoned me the following day to check on me. It was wonderful to hear a familiar voice. I am grateful for the folks who operate this fantastic organization and for the marvelous people who are the volunteers.
The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The drivers are always helpful. Vehicles are clean.
No complaints at all. I would really miss this service. I would really like to see a service for wheelchair users.
I fractured my spine two times within four months. I have not been released to drive.
I would not be able to make my many appointments without Faith In Action.
The volunteers go out of their way to help me get in and out of their vehicles. The are an amazing group of wonderful people.
The office staff are so very kind.
I am truly so grateful to have the support of Faith In Action
Sandra Goodman.
Faith in Action provides a vital service for seniors who need transportation. I've had to call them a couple of times for an out of town medical appointment and Faith in Action has been more than willing to help. Each time my appointment ended up being canceled but it is very reassuring knowing that Faith in Action is here to help if I need them.
Faith in Action, Georgetown, TX – A Superb Non-Profit Organization
Faith in Action Georgetown (FIAG) has been a pillar of support for me, providing rides to essential destinations such as doctor’s appointments, church, and even the hair salon. They have always been responsive to my ride requests, ensuring I can get where I need to go without the financial burden of using services like Uber or Lyft.
The volunteer drivers are considerate and accommodating, making each trip a pleasant experience. While adhering to their rules and regulations for ride requests is necessary, it is a small trade-off for the invaluable assistance they provide.
FIAG doesn’t just meet a need; it fills a critical gap in the lives of seniors and others in the community. Their work is truly commendable, and the dedication of both their drivers and office staff deserves special recognition.
I cannot praise this organization enough for their excellent service and unwavering commitment to the community. FIAG exemplifies what a great non-profit should be, and they undoubtedly deserve recognition for their outstanding work.
I fell in love with this nonprofit organization
I had COVID 3 times in the last 4 years and I couldn't drive at the time and I had doctors appointments so my social worker from my insurance told me about faith in action and when I call them, they opened a home New World for me. They were able to take me to my doctors appointment. I was able to get in the van and go to the stores and go out to eat ice cream and just a lot of activities that I wasn't able to do because I couldn't drive and they just helped me out so much with the food, pantry where you get food the gift shop and help me out tremendously. I just wanna say I am grateful for the people that volunteer their time the people that work in the office, building, the drivers I can just command them all I just want to say that they're doing a great job and to keep up the good work there's a lot of people out there need a place like this... keep up to good work
FIA is great. It's just that simple. They're the nicest people who work hard to get you from your home to your destination and back. Quite comfortingly when you have no one else to turn tol.
Faith in Action is doing so much for the Georgetown community of older adults. This year they expanded their transportation program to include the new communities popping up throughout Georgetown and will continue to do so as the demand is increasing. They are also expanding on other services to better meet the growing needs of their clients in an effort to allow them to remain independent and in their homes.

There is no other organization that compares to Faith in Action where seniors can receive FREE transportation to their medical appointments. But not only do they provide medical transportation, they ensure seniors are getting their groceries and socializing with each other all while building relationships and keeping them out of isolation and engaging in their communities.
First my wife stopped driving, and then I stopped driving. We are both visually impaired, and driving is no longer safe.
But Faith in Action Georgetown (FIAG) came to the rescue! We have taken dozens of rides to dozens of important places, and made friends with many of the drivers. We would be isolated and frustrated if it were not for the enthusiastic, friendly assistance we get regularly from Faith in Action Georgetown.
I first learned about Faith in Action when my wife suffered a broken leg and needed a transport chair to maneuver around our home. Unfortunately there were none available from local medical supply stores but we learned the FIA also ministers to this need. I stopped by the office and they provided a wheelchair from the lobby and the next day a transport chair from the large inventory of medical equipment. I will never forget this and pledged to work with them if an opportunity arose.
The opportunity did happen months later when a Board position became available. I applied and was fortunate to be able to give back to this wonderful caring organization. Since then, I have learned that the services go far beyond medical equipment. They provide transportation to Seniors in need that no longer have the means to drive to important appointments such as doctors, pharmacies or even shopping. I am thankful for the services provided to our needy Seniors.
I moved to Georgetown and heard great things about them, so I volunteered to drive. I think so much of them that I am now am on the Board of Directors. I saw what the Executive Director Lisa Hill and her team did of loving our Seniors that I wanted to help, and I know you will feel the same way!
Faith in Action provides a tremendous service that allows residents of Georgetown to stay connected with the community, giving them a sense of purpose and belonging. The team is always looking for ways to enhance their service offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of their users.
I’ve been a driver for 7 years. It’s such a pleasure to drive these appreciative seniors to their appointments and shopping. Lisa Hill is a great director and cares so much for these seniors. She and her staff go beyond the call of duty to serve our seniors. I was so impressed with this non profit that I have served on the board for the past three years. We are always looking for more drivers. If you have just a little spare time, I guarantee you want be sorry when you see the smiles on their faces.
they really helped me when i was sick and had a lot of dr appts. drivers are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about this area. providing rides for seniors is one of best ideas ever! helps seniors get their freedom and mobility back.

Faith in Action provides a vital and necessary service for seniors in this area. Transportation is quite a problem for many of us. They have helped me with ongoing medical treatments, voting and I suspect with many other things in the future since I am now without a car. My treatment is vital and I could not do it w/o their assistance. Drivers are friendly, polite, on time and know many ways to avoid I-35. I really appreciate their help.
My experience with FIAG far exceeded my expectations. They offer rides to residents in the Georgetown area to qualified people to their doctor appointments and other important appointments. Such an important community service!
We have volunteers and 2 vans with drivers that provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, and other errands so that seniors over the age of 65 can maintain their independence.
I have served on the boards of many non-profit organizations in the past. I have not found one to be as efficient, dedicated, well- managed, and as successful in fulfilling their mission as Faith in Action - Georgetown. The organization has a very effective and efficient system that makes clients able to access the services quickly and easily, enables volunteers to complete their applications and background checks efficiently, and keeps the staff able to greet visitors to the office and follow up on services with both the clients and the volunteers. The organization has a strong and effective board, as well. Altogether, the organization is effective in providing its services, strives to fund the organization for expansion of its services, and is dedicated to the clients it serves.
Faith in Action Georgetown is outstanding. Their mission and heart for senior citizens keeping their independence is so pure and inspiring. Thank you for all that you do!
FIAG is a wonderful organization supporting senior independence by providing rides to appointments and more. They've increased volunteers and clients over the last 6 months, and continue to find ways to support seniors in our community!
I have served on the board for Faith in Action for almost 5 years. During these years, I've seen staff members engage with clients by listening to personal stories, helping them navigate in our technologically frustrating world, shop for their groceries, and showing these seniors they are valued. The staff is not just providing transportation but they are helping keep these clients independent, with dignity and the knowledge that they are important citizens in our community.
FAITH IN ACTION IS AN OUTSTANDING ORGANIZATION !! For older citizens such as I who've given up driving it's a "life saver" for doctor appointments & even going to voting locations. The drivers are so efficient courteous !!
I have been with Faith in Action since 2012. This organization is essential to older people who can no longer drive to appointments or to get food and other necessities, to those who feel isolated and need social interaction, and to have a network of caring volunteers to count on. Faith in Action is a seniors' source for community information as well. As the population ages, organizations like this become more of a necessity. I speak for many who highly value Faith in Action Georgetown!
I have had the the good fortune to be help by Faith in Action. I can no longer drive so getting to the grocery store Docter’s Appts and any variety of things even as simple as picking up my medications presents problems. The kindness and generosity of spirit with the wonderful staff and volunteers has been a tremendous Blessing to me I cannot imagine my life without the help that Faith in Action gives to me.
My mother signed up for Faith in Action Georgetown years ago with the anticipation that when she stopped driving she would be utilizing their services...although this has not happened yet (she's not driving but she has not started letting FIA drive as we still have access to family members who help her out) I keep up with all of the events and activities that I am in hope that some day she will start attending. I have even thought about going myself as it looks like a fun group of people. I am a huge supporter of this group and I hope they will always continue they do a wonderful service for Georgetown and it's so good to know that they are there if and when you need them!
As a driver for Faith in Action Georgetown, I have the opportunity to meet a wonderful variety of people in our community. It is also the chance for conversation which I hope is helpful to them. More than a ride, I want this to be a time of socialization, encouragement, or reassurance if needed. And I have the gift of time with them that day.
If you are handicapped or visually impaired this is one nonprofit that should be your go to when you need a ride. I have been using Faith in Action since 2016. The staff has always responded in a timely manner and made sure I had a drive for my appointment. The volunteers are considerate, helpful and I feel VERY safe riding with them. I have friends in other cities that cannot believe the service I receive from "Faith In Action". They are the BEST!
Today was the first time I had the pleasure of being driven to vote as I no longer am able to drive. I was picked up by an amazing lady driving a comfortable super clean sedan. She made me feel so at home with our conversations and history of Faith In Action and the many blessings they give to the elderly in our community. So happy and thankful to God for bringing us here.
Although I have not had to use their services, I know they are available if I needed them. Also I appreciate the Christmas gifts.
I have been volunteering as a driver for Faith In Action for a few months. I love the people I meet and the value they are giving everyone in their program with free rides.
The people involved in this program are simply wonder, kind, and care very much for the people that depend on them to help us get around. How fortunate we are that we live here in Georgetown Tx
I have been volunteering with Faith in Action since January and I have met some of the nicest people just driving them to their appointments. Because of the great service FIA provides senior citizens are able to stay in their homes and not have their independence taken away from them. I love this organization!
Wonderful workers in management ---great volunteer drivers. This organization does super work for the elderly that are handicapped.
I have used Faith in Action several times to get me to medical appointments requiring my going under anesthesia. I have several serious cardiac issues and my drivers have been punctual. pleasant, kind and caring people. I only use them if absolutely necessary now, but will most likely need them more for surgery and more testing. I don’t know what I’d do without these wonderful people. Seniors often need help and Faith in Action has always been there for me. They are an amazing group.

Faith In Action made it possible for my father to attend weekly meetings at the Kiwanis club in Sun City. Drivers were always very courteous and dad enjoy their company.
Faith in Action Georgetown has been a true blessing to our family. My mother-in-law lives with us and no longer drives. My husband and I both work full time, making it difficult to take her to doctor appointments. FiAG takes her to monthly appointments, minimizing the need for us to take time away from our jobs. We sincerely appreciate these kind volunteers and organization.
I began working for Faith in Action in June and not only did I get to make connections on the telephone while scheduling client appointments but I got to drive the van and meet some of them in person, fostering closer relationships with them. What an amazing service Faith in Action provides to seniors in the community who otherwise would have to rely on their busy families to take them for their medical appointments, etc. The van program allows them to meet others like them and create friendships. I love listening to them chat away with each other!
Faith in Action is one of the most valuable volunteer agencies that exists for serving the needs of seniors. As a recipient of their services I have more freedom and less dependence on my children and neighbors. And as a special bonus I get to meet all of the wonderful volunteers who give up their time to take me on errands. Without Faith in Action it would indeed be a lonelier life. Thanks you for all that you do to support and and befriend seniors in Georgetown
I had to quit driving February 19. That was devastating to me. I had hoped to drive at least 7 more years.
Since then FIAG has given me to each doctor appointment unless it could be TeleMed.
I no longer felt desperate. FIAG also takes me to HEB on Tuesday or Thursday.
FIAG raised my self esteem. It also helps me not feel alone anymore.

I came from a city that had bus and taxis as the only way to travel for a non-driver.. Praise the Lord for the faithful people who volunteer and work for Faith in Action. So precious and kind are each one. They have helped me over and over. So good to know I have their help.
I have had nothing but good expriences with this agency. I am 76 yeats old and don't have a car, so i don't know what I would do without them. ALL THE STAFF AND THE DRivers are nice.
Faith in Action has been a very special and needed part of my life. Due to failing eyesight I am unable to drive and they have been indispensable in my efforts to go to doctors’ appointments, etc. The drivers are always helpful and very pleasant.
Many years ago I was a driver for Faith in Action but I really had no idea of how large an impact this organization has in the community and how necessary they are in enabling many to continue living independent lives.
I'm new to the Georgetown Faith in Action services, having used it only once so far. I was a member in a nearby town for several years so I can say that this organization is a great help tp those of us who do no longer drive.
My one experience was with a very pleasant driver.
My only suggestion is that, if possible, one is notified a couple of days in advance rather than the day before. I understand that this might not always be feasible, but not always knowing whether to cancel an appointment or not is in the balance.
Thank you for all you do.
I have been unable to drive for several years due to a vision impairment. I was so happy to learn about Faith in Action when I moved to Georgetown, Texas. It was hard for me to believe that volunteers would provide rides - and they were free rides. I was a little skeptical but I have never been disappointed.
Every driver has been on time, extremely helpful and pleasant during my many trips. I cannot say enough great things about every driver and every Faith in Action representative with whom I have been in contact! We are blessed to have such a great organization.
I had a spinal lumbar fusion. I didn’t have a ride for my 2-week check up. When I called Faith in Action I was assigned a driver. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a neighbor who felt it might be a good chance to meet each other. It was! Thx Faith in Action.
My experience with Faith in Action spans several years. The professionalism demonstrated by the staff, volunteers and the organization as a whole is impressive. From my phone call to reserve a ride to the doctor's office to completion is ever so smooth. The driver's name is given to me ahead of time. The driver introduces herself, assists in getting my walker in car and me belted in. She drives me to the door, comes into the waiting room while I have my office visit and brings me back to the car and home.
The promptness, cleanliness, courtesy and friendliness of all concerned could not be of higher quality.
Thank you, Faith in Action Georgetown, for your delightful and necessary service.
God bless each of you.
I lost my vision in my left eye to cancer and suffer from severe glaucoma, I can’t afford the UBER and LYFT cost to get to my frequent doctor appointments and Faith in Action has been a Godsend
I joined Faith In Action 2 years ago after I retired to give back to the Georgetown community. It is very much true that I get back way more than I give with FIA. This organization provides critical services to the senior community and our clients are very thankful. Just do it!
I had driven and been on the board before I moved to Georgia. I returned last year and again am driving. It is one of the most rewarding experiences ever. It is fun meeting new people and provides a much needed service.
It's wonderful to help people in need of rides to the doctor, dentist, or other important appointments. Faith In Action is truly a wonderful organization
I worked as a Volunteer Driver and sometimes Office Assistant at Faith in Action for about 5 years. It was an extremely rewarding experience which enabled me to give back to the community while retaining great flexibility for my own endeavors in retirement. The staff at Faith in Action are truly dedicated to furthering the goals of the organization by providing transportation for Georgetown seniors and in so doing giving seniors an enduring independence as they age. While I have since ,regrettably, moved from the area, my heart nevertheless remains with this wonderful organization and I hope others will be inspired to consider volunteering. It is definitely a win-win for both volunteer and recipient.
Taken me every place because I don't know any one in Georgetown and at 93 I no longer drive.
I love the drivers to talk to and they tell me all about the townI

I use a walker and also can't lift my feet so need a sedan so I can sit my butt on the seat and swing in my legs. Faith in Action fulfills this for me whether I am going local or to Round Rock.
I am new to Georgetown and don't know anyone here to take me to all the medical trips I need as I am 92 with many ills. As I have said, they are the bright spot in my life.
I love being a driver for Faith in Action. I met so many wonderful seniors. Everyone is so appreciative for providing transportation to medical appointments, shopping & errands. Actually, being a part of Faith in Action helps me to helps me more than I help other. This I the best organization I have ever been a part of.
I am a widow and live in Sun City at Georgetown. I am now 85 and it sometimes is very hard to drive to many locations as they are too far away, or the amount of traffic scares me, so I was asking my neighbors to take me places. They are all busy, but certainly would take me any place I needed to go, but I hate to ask people for help. When I heard about Faith in Action, I could not believe there were so many volunteer drivers that would take seniors any place they needed to go!! I do not know what I would do without Faith In Action. With the virus, I am staying home, but can't wait to get out again with their help.
Faith in Action provides a very needed service because of our large population of seniors who can not longer drive. It has been a wonderful and rewarding experience for me to drive these awesome people!! It's so much fun to hear about the lives they have had. I gave a ride to a woman who has the same passion for cooking that I do. We had the funnest time talking about it!!
Faith in Action appreciates us volunteers and I really appreciate them.

Faith in Action Georgetown is an outstanding non-profit devoted to helping seniors in our area to be transported to medical, grocery and other places that enhance their lives and offer them the opportunity to interact with other people. This is a well organized and exceptionally well received benefit to living in Georgetown.

I found out about Faith in Action Georgetown through a brochure at my church. It immediately became something I was interested in finding more about. I have been a driver for about 8 years now and find it as rewarding today as it was on my first drive. I tend to concentrate on clients that need a ride to a medical appointment in which case we take them and stay there until they are ready to leave and then take them home, detouring if they need us to do so to get a prescription, etc. I have also driven clients to the Grocery store, to a beauty salon, to the post office, to Walmart or Target, etc. Faith in Action Georgetown now has about 700 clients that are all able to stay in their own homes because we are willing to drive them to those places that make their lives better.
I have enjoyed each and every drive and our clients truly appreciate our volunteer efforts.

Faith in Action was a great help to me when I fell and broke my arm. Initially I could not drive and my wife is in a Memory care facility. They got me to doctors as needed and always waited with me to bring me back home. It is a great comfort to know they are here as needed.
I have the opportunity to drive seniors to doctor appointments and hair appointments. The greatest trips are taking a spouse to see someone they have loved and cared for to a senior community visit. There are many reasons why our clients do not drive, anymore , and Faith in Action offers that INDEPENDENCE for them to go where they NEED and WANT to go. Sometimes, we serve as a listener and that was all the client needed on the ride to the appointment. When clients ask family or friends, , sometimes, they like they owe them something. Faith in Action is a volunteer organization who's members are screened and trained. They want to do something positive for the community. Our skills are good driving, caring for others, listening, making the experience go smoothly, asking them where they want to park since they probably have been there before, treating client like you were taking a family member, and respecting privacy at all times. Try It ...You Might Like It!
When I moved to Georgetown I heard about this wonderful volunteer opportunity through Faith in Action -Driving Seniors. I thought of all the time my own mom could have used such a service but none was available in the community where she
lived. I signed up to volunteer and have loved meeting the seniors from my own community and helping them get to the doctor or hairstylist, etc. Knowing that I provided just a little help to another blesses me so much. The clients are so appreciative of the services offered by FIA. Several I’ve met had previously been drivers for FIA but found themselves unable to volunteer for FIA and, instead, needing to use FIA’s services! What a great organization where both the volunteers and the clients are equally blessed-one providing and one receiving FIA’s services.
This is the most awesome nonprofit. They provide a very important need to the community where many people are unable to drive. It is a blessing to take people to places like doctors and grocery stores. Also they have a Buddy program where people call and reach out to people that might need checking on or just want a friend. They even help with some simple repairs.
I have volunteered some over the past few years and the staff and volunteers try their best to help see that the seniors in Georgetown Texas get the services they need. The staff is always friendly and helpful to try to match volunteers to seniors needing rides to medical appointments, stores, and so much more. Thank you for all your efforts. I know FIAG fills a need in the community!
Faith in action help so many people who cannot help themselves. For the volunteers it’s a great way to meet wonderful people. It also keeps the people we help to be independent
FIAG offers much needed support for our community. Even during Covid they were quick to pivot their standard operating procedures to continue to make sure our seniors were well taken care of.
I am a driver for Faith in Action. I have met so many interesting and lovable clients during my 3 years with the organization. I feel it is a privilege to serve our older residents who have a need to travel to appointments which are necessary for them to maintain a quality of life. I get more blessings from those I drive than they get from me. I have formed friendships with many of them and enjoy visiting with them. I’m grateful there is Faith in Action available for our seniors and also grateful that I can be a part of such an amazing organization.
I am a volunteer driver for Faith in Action and find it a truly rewarding experience. It is so hard when someone has to give up driving it impacts there independence greatly. I have met the most wonderful people that are so thankful to be able to get out and about for doctors appointment or just to get their hair done. Faith in Action is a blessing to our community.
I am so appreciative of the staff and volunteers who give so much of their time to the Senior population here in Georgetown. My husband has several health issues and can no longer drive. I haven't driven much prior to that as he always drove and makes me a nervous to do so. I can drive to local places if I have to, but try to avoid it. I was put in touch with them from a friend and they came to visit us and got us both enrolled very quickly. They have been so helpful and don't know what I would do without this service to keep us as independent as possible.
Thank you again to all the staff and volunteers who make it work. We donate when when can.
I started working at FIAG in May and what a blessing it is to be the Bus Driver and get to listen to clients socializing on the bus as I drive many folks to HEB (one on Hwy 29 and one on Williams road. And when I pick my friendly riders up I find them socializing in the McDonalds (at Walmart) or on the benches provided at the various stops. I love my job and I get a sense of purpose proving transportation and lending an ear when someone wants to chat a minute. My wife started volunteering last week and she loves providing rides for seniors. They are so appreciative and one called her an angel.
Joined as a driver a couple of years ago and I can't tell you what it means to assist others that need your help----just for a simple ride to the doctor or dentist or barber or grocery store or just to get out of the house and have some social interaction. Times have changed tremendously over the years and many of us don't have family/friends nearby to look after us. Faith in Action Georgetown is just a hometown group of people providing assistance for those who need a little bit of individual attention and wouldn't ask if that help wasn't necessary. The folks you meet are fantastic and could be just another member of your family---and by the end of the trip, they generally are.
Moved here 3years ago to be near family and have been independent until now. I found Faith in Action from my church friends (1st Meth Georgetown)
How great to be taken to my Dr appointments , Bridge games and hair dresser
Nice drivers, and I feel so safe.
Thank you
Julia Papageorge
My family has become less able to help transport me to appointments etc. The transportation costs for commercial rides have been almost prohibitive. So, riding to the rescue has been Faith in Action. I always make a donation to them when they help me because while I am still able, I wish to help finance their dedication.
The Best Ever Volunteer Job !! Seniors are so appreciative, changing their life’s with transportation!!
I have never had the opportunity to use the services, offered by Faith in Action. However, I do know many who say that the Faith in Action service is wonderful.
They provide a such a wonderful service that gives the elderly or people who have vision problems a sense of dignity and a way to be independent and feel competent and important and able to help themselves in their older age.
Faith in Action sent a wonderful man to visit with my husband who was dying. Both had graduated from the University of Texas, (albeit different years) and both were avid sports fans.
When Richard came to visit with my husband , my husband was transformed. For those precious times that they were together, he forgot about his illness and the fact that death was rapidly approaching. Bob died in November, 2018. I will be eternally grateful to Faith in Action for the role they played in our lives.

My husband is ill and cannot drive. I had a colonoscopy scheduled and Faith In Action picked me up and stayed with me until the procedure was over and brought me safely home. The volunteer was right on time and very cheerful . We also had a man from Faith In Action change our air filters. After he finished, he stayed for awhile and visited with us. We have "borrowed" medical equipment from them and the woman who handles that is wonderful. We shall give the medical equipment back for others to use once we are through with them. This is an outstanding organization. Thank you for helping us and others in the community.
I am a disabled veteran who cannot drive a car any longer. My PTSD counselor referred me to Faith in Action for help getting to my VA appointments. I cannot describe how important they have become to my health care and peace of mind. They use volunteer drivers who give their time and use of their vehicles to get vets like me to my appointments; many of which are out of town. Their staff are unfailing polite and helpful and their volunteer drivers are wonderful people who make my trips interesting and fun. They are a critical part of my life.
I thank God for Faith in Action and may He bless them everyday.
I have had the joy and pleasure of volunteering with Faith in Action for 4 years and appreciate the love and dedication this organization and staff have for those who need help in our community. They help others with grace, compassion and love.

I am a volunteer driver with Faith in Action Georgetown - and I love what we do.
My riders are so appreciative of having a ride to doctor's appointments, even to the grocery store and beauty shops. They would be living in a world of 'silence' without FIAG - as we can help restore them to the world - just be giving them a ride!!! My driving experiences have been truly awesome with some wonderful seniors that can't drive themselves!!!
Staff is remarkable, truly interested in their clients.
I am a rookie driver but I will be a long term driver.
I drove a 92YO and a 78YO last week. The 92 yo crisscrossed the USA for 15 years with his wife in an rv. The 78yo was a barber for over 40 years, beginning his profession at the time all guys got crew cuts. Their stories are remarkable and entertaining.
FiA Georgetown is a wonderful organization. My son and I have only been volunteering with them for a month and it’s been very regarding. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very compassionate towards the clients. The clients are very grateful at the opportunity to keep their independence, and to have a friendly person to talk to.
I really enjoy working with Faith In Action. The staff are lovely to work with and their clients really appreciate what this organization does for them. They can keep their independence by living in their homes and us drivers take them to their appointments. It’s a pleasure to give back to the community by helping out in this way.
My son asked me to quit driving 13 months ago because of vision problems and age (83). Since I have numerous medical appointments - two different eye doctors, two different heart doctors, two different orthopedic doctors, pain management doctor and primary care doctor - as well as grocery and personal care shopping, giving up my car created transportation problems. Fortunately, my church supports Faith In Action Georgetown so I knew about their transportation services and made contact. I have been using their transportation service for a year now. They are great. All my drivers have been friendly, prompt, contacted me in advance, gotten to the doctors on time and made sure I entered my home before they leave my place of residence. When I joined Faith in Action Georgetown, I was surprised that they offer additional services such as Errands and Handyman Services. I have recommended this wonderful organization to several people in my neighborhood.
Do you know how hard it is to get someone to take you to a Doctors. appointment. I tried a lot of agencies and everyone said they could do it until I told them i was in a wheelchair and then they told they could not help. It was then I was told about FAITH IN ACTION I called and they were Haven sent. With out FAITH IN ACTION do not know what I would do. all the volunteers have been so nice and helpful. they take me to my appointments and wait till I am done. THANK YOU FAITH IN ACTION
I have been driving for 15 years and have dropped from 3 times per week to one average and have found it is as rewarding to me as it is to the recipient. This is such a blessing to those who cant get around anymore
I have worked with Faith In Action for more than one year. The people are well motivated and serious about assisting the clients. If I were "Home Bound" I would avail myself of their assistance.
I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people who were in need of assistance with their errands. The highlight of my week is when I had the opportunity to eat lunch at the local library with a client and we just sat and talked about life every friday when my schedule permitted.
As a driver, I feel we provide a rewarding service for the citizens of Georgetown. Time well spent to make someone happy!
My name is Frances Hill and I am so very happy to be a client of this wonderful organization - the drivers are so loving , kind, helpful as a senior that gave up driving after I retired this service to our community is much appreciated- I also signed my disabled sister up for services as well - and we are grateful to them for all they do for us!
Though I just started volunteering last month, I love this organization. The people in charge are excellent at their jobs, and they do everything they can to make sure the volunteers and the senior citizens they drive get the most out of their experiences. It is the perfect volunteer opportunity as you can go online and sign up for drives that fit into your schedule and your preference for length of drive. There are maps to show you where the people live that you will be driving as well as how far it is from your house and how long it will take you to get to the person's house and then to the appointment he or she needs to get to. And so far the people I have taken places have been so gracious and appreciative. I highly recommend Faith in Action!
As a recent retiree, I knew that I wanted to volunteer in the community. I attended their spring choral concert and God lead me through the doors of FIAG . Now I volunteer for driving home bound seniors, as well as doing volunteer work in their offices. There is something for everyone and a need awaiting you. Come be a part of this awesome family. The rewards will make everyday special!
I'm a volunteer for this organization because I believe in helping elders and other people with disabilities continue to live as independently as possible. This organization meets an essential need in our community. Faith in Action Georgetown is very organized, communicates well, and efficiently uses moneys donated/granted.
