Mission: Faith House, founded in 1991 by Mildred Jamison RN, was started with 2 credit cards and $10,000. It was licensed to care for 12 children. Today it is licensed for 54 children and has an annual budget of approximately $3 million. Over 500 children have come through the Faith House doors since opening. Faith House began in a converted 4-family flat and grew to care for 25 children. Today Faith House consists of approximately 5,000 square feet of living space in a 5 year old home that cost $1.7 million to build. Faith House is licensed by the state of Missouri to certify adults for adoption and foster care. Over 100 children have been adopted since this program was implemented.
