Causes: Homeless & Housing, Homeless Shelters, Human Service Organizations, Human Services, Military & Veterans Organizations, Veterans
Mission: To assist veterans, active duty members, & their families invarious ways, including through supportive services, financialassistance, housing, life skills education, community outreach, andmental health services for combat and non-combat related issues. Although located in Florida, we do our best to provide assistance to any in need regardless of where they live or are stationed.
Programs: Stand Down House, a transitional living facility in South Florida, opened its doors in May 2000 & assists homeless male veterans who are struggling, who have lost their homes & their ability to lead productive lives due to mental & physical illness, addictions, and/or other issues regain their independence. Help is provided through transitional housing, a multi tiered program, & collaboration with government agencies, veteran service organizations, & the community.For more information: http://www.standown.org/
