Programs: Fahe was founded as an organization to promote affordable housing in appalachia but has expanded its goals to not only be a leader in housing concerns, but to partner with other organizations to impact regional issues such as energy efficiency, health, education, and issues for the aging and elderly. One of the ways it achieves this impact is by having a diverse set of business lines that rely on partnership to serve the region. Fahe also has a community lending fund, which offers financing for multi-family housing projects, community facilities, and medical facilities throughout appalachia. Furthermore, the 50+ member fahe network employs over 2500 full-time employees. In fy 2015, fahe had a total direct investment in the appalachian region of 67 million, with capital of 258 million under management including loans serviced for other organizations. In its 30- year history, the fahe network has served more than 300,000 appalachians with housing, made over 536 million in direct investment, and achieved a total cumulative financial impact of over 1. 15 billion dollars in the appalachian region.
