Focus on Renewal is a non-profit organization dedicated to making McKees Rocks a better community. My role with this organization has been as a volunteer at the Father Ryan Arts Center and I have sincerely loved all of the events that I have been a part of here. The Arts Center, although only one division of Focus on Renewal, provides the opportunity for both adults and children to experience all aspects of the arts by offering classes and other arts-related activities and events.

Mission: F. O. R. Sto-rox neighborhood corporation is organized for the improvement and betterment of the social, educational, health, and cultural environments of the mckees rocks boro/stowe township neighborhoods. Its mission is to empower the development of spirit, mind, and body of individuals, so they may live their lives in a dignified and fully human way.
Programs: Family services - a comprehensive set of program services to families of the sto-rox community as follows: -positive parenting - a program for families with children from birth to age five. The goal of the program is to prevent child abuse and help children and families transition into the school system by improving the parent-child relationship. Approximately 120 individuals served. -family foundations - a federally funded early head start program involving 55 families in the area. -community services - provides counseling, information and referral; shelter, workforce development and crisis care for citizens in the area.
cultural arts - a program to create opportunities for the community and individuals to participate in programs and instruction in music, theater, dance, visual arts and literature. Approximately 200 individuals were served.
library - a free lending library, located in mckees rocks. The library is part of the allegheny county and pennsylvania library systems.
