I came across Extollo while looking for non-profits in Haiti to collaborate with in the near future. I messaged them, and got a quick and happy response. When I saw they had trained Deaf students, I was overjoyed since I am working with the Deaf in neighboring Dominican Republic and hope to visit Extollo in Haiti as soon as I can.
Considering the challenging time the world is going through and the tough time Haiti is going through, Extollo stands like a bright beacon..a light on a hill that cannot be hid.
I have worked with many non-profits over the years and Extollo International is one that I can continue to support and stand behind. I am very proud of the way that they are not trying to create dependency on foreign aid, but they are educating and empowering local Haitians. Extollo also operates as a social enterprise meaning that they have a for profit strategy leading to long term sustainability away from international financial support. Extollo does its best to keep money inside of the country they are working in - from purchasing materials to hiring local employees. I can't say enough good about this organization and their mission and vision in Haiti.
