Let me share a short story. In 2008 I found out I was pregnant with Jeffrey in CT and I joined Positive Parenting to learn more about Parenting because I wanted to provide the best for my kids. I also went through the program with my other son DJ with my husband. They provided resources, earned gift cards and basket full of items for the boys. My Parent Aide Mallory was so amazing, she uplifted me, and went to child support court with me because I was so nervous. I told her one day I want to do this. I wanted to do this program and bring it to Dothan. Little did I know we already have it. When I was hired at ECCAP and they mentioned it to me we have the same program. I could cried!!!
Not only have I been watching Pam Miles Director of ECCAP for years and admire her work. I attended Lunch and Learn and how she brought and taught on ACES. I again literally cried in such joy that we have a community who cares and want to be a resilient community. She is truly amazing, bold, brave, heart of gold, assertive, strong, knowledgeable and loving self. I told her and said to many she will be my boss one day!!! All she has done for the community, all her successful services she provides. I had referred many or reach out t her for advice for others. She never hesitate to give advice or help. I want to be under her, to grow, to learn, and to give back to the community like she does!! So to be watching her on the outside was amazing but to be watching now on the inside behind the scene is indescribable and a blessing. Not only she doesn't demand but she guides, supports, and even ROLE MODELS (unintentionally if I may add!)
I've watched her love on babies, I watched her stopped what she is doing and play games with kids in the waiting room, one day she visited our office, turned around, came back with a book and read it to our families, another visit with families she grabbed the baby, grabbed paint brushes and painted with 3 other of the kids while we spoke to mom, she takes time to listen to you, always available to help, she speaks life over you and lifts you right back up. Best of all she accepts us all just the way we are and reminds us of our uniqueness and differences and embraces it. I never felt so freely and proud to be ME! Lastly, when the leader is this amazing she built an amazing staff. They replicate her leadership and of course freely who they are also.
In conclusion, all that ECCAP offers, all the services, staff and all has truly been a blessing in our community. The networks, connections, selflessness and togetherness of this one nonprofit to others is one huge step why DOTAHN is a great, loving, helpful and resilient community.
I witnessed first hand the passion behind The Exchange Center. The staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and driven to help change lives for the better. This is a place of love, acceptance, and healing. Truly powerful.
The Exchange Center provides free counseling services to anyone who has experienced trauma. They have licensed clinicians and also offer group therapy, yoga, and parenting/anger management courses. The Exchange Center's approach is trauma informed and a great resource in the Dothan area. I highly recommend checking them out!

I am so glad we have this agency in our community
The Exchange Center has the most amazing, dedicated, caring professionals of any organization I know. They are dedicated to carry out their mission: empower families to create a safe and nurturing environment at home. They work tirelessly to break the cycle of abuse. Under the leadership of Executive Director Pam Miles, the center has expanded its ability to reach families through counseling, support groups and classes throughout our community. May God bless these wonderful people and the work they do.
They are amazing!! The Exchange Center offers so many great programs and services for the community.
The Exchange Center is full of wonderful people that just want to help the community. They helped prepare a good friend of mine to regain custody of his daughter and raise her as a single dad. I am grateful for all that they do!
I have served on the Board for the Exchange Center for Child Abuse Prevention in various capacities for 7 years. This agency is accredited at the highest level, has strategically built in both programmatic and financial oversight for accountability, and they are staffed with the most compassionate hard working team. I donate both time and money to help this organization continue to grow their services and expand their reach. I believe strongly in the prevention of child abuse and feel that there is no better investment than into the lives of children. All children deserve to grow up safe and free from abuse.
I've been using this non profit for over 10 years. When I first walked in I was broken had no self love and my trauma from childhood was taking over my parenting. Thanks to the counseling services, trauma yoga and parent aide program I know how beautiful I am, I love myself and have the skills to be a gentle loving mother. They saved my life and my children and without them I wouldn't be the resilient empowered woman I am today.
Pam and her staff work tirelessly to break the cycle of abuse through counseling, classes, and raising community awareness.
Our agency regularly refers patients to The Exchange Center for Child Abuse Prevention, and our experience with their experienced, skillful staff could not be more positive. The Exchange Center provides more services to more people than many of us realize. They not only provide counseling, new parent classes, an anger management course and improve the coping skills for people who are struggling in their role as parents, The Exchange Center also provides counseling to those who have survived various traumatic events ranging from abuse at the hands of a loved one to a dysfunctional childhood to being rejected by family because of questions surrounding one's sexual identity. Executive Director Pam Miles and her caring staff successfully navigate these difficult issue and more, while providing training to other agencies and raising community awareness surrounding issues of today, such as improving health care delivery in Dothan by creating a more trauma-informed community. Pam Miles and her staff are passionate about their work and I could not sing their praises any more highly.
The staff members at The Exchange Center for Child Abuse Prevention are passionate about providing the best possible care for their clients.

This non-profit is an excellent source for the Wiregrass community. Its commitment to servicing those in need is unmatched. I highly recommend the Exchange Center!
I was first attracted to this organization because of the passion and expertise of its leadership. It has a tiny budget and a small staff, but The Exchange Center is making a large impact in the area of abuse counseling and prevention in our community. It is positioned to grow beyond Dothan into surrounding counties, and it is exciting to be part of an organization that is driven towards healthy expansion and growth.
