Mission: To transform the lives of disadvantaged and underserved youth through education programs that inspire experiential learning, improve academic skills, promote academic success, foster leadership, character and social development; and promote personal growth through programs that teach life skills, intervention and prevention strategies, health, fitness and college and career readiness in a holistic, caring and supportive environment.

Results: Conducted a Career and college readiness Program for underserved 4th - 6th Grade Elementary students. STARR 5th grade reading preparation Tutoring Program-March 7-28, 2017 United Way/Dr. Seuss Reading/National Read Across American Day organization volunteer - March 2, 2017 Adventures in Reading and Math Summer Program - June-August, 2017 Soaring through Science – The World of Aviation Learning Field Trip, June 15, 2017 Keeping the Momentum...Moving Forward Youth Conference August 15-17, 2017

Target demographics: The purpose of the Excellence by Design Education Center is to (1) offer educational programs and services to youth and adults. These educational programs and services promote a holistic approach to academics, interpersonal, life and leadership skills and build self esteem that leads to a better quality of life. Excellence by Design Education Center’s purpose is to also develop leaders though workshops training and seminars.

Geographic areas served: Excellence by Design Education Center herein known as EDEC is a service focused, DBA nonprofit agency providing educational programs and services for all youth and adults in the Greater Dallas Metroplex area. EDEC specializes in developing programs that are tailored to individual as well as group needs.

Programs: EDEC seeks to transform the lives of disadvantaged and underserved youth and young adults. Through education, mentoring and experiential learning in a highly disciplined environment, EDEC seeks to fosters academics, leadership development, and personal growth that will lead to a quality way of life from youth to adulthood. EDEC educational programs and services are tailored to promote a holistic approach to academics, interpersonal, life, leadership skills and build self-esteem. Programs offerings includes the Dell, Debs and Divas Girl’s Mentoring Program, Tutoring Service, Leaders of Tomorrow Leadership Academy, Reading, Writing, Math and STEM Academic Camps, the New Beginning Prevention Program, College and Career Readiness Dreams Come True Program, Service Learning Program and Youth Fitness Program. EDEC collaborates with local schools and community organizations to tailor programs that meet the individual needs of youth and young adults.

EDEC is not only a non-profit, but volunteers to help other non-profits. EDEC participated in the United Way Dr. Seuss National Reading Day. Volunteers read to Pre-K and Kindergarten students at Harlee Early Childhood Center.
