As a newbie to the country I got into mountain biking, starting off with a skills class offered by Evergreen. After that there was no looking back! I found friends through the organization to progress in the sport with, and later on joined as a volunteer on the board. Thank you for all you do to increase access to more and more trails for all ages across Washington. The community you build is also quite amazing!

I've been involved with Evergreen since about 2008 when at the time our local trail building group were running into brick walls with local land managers. Evergreen took the bold step to move out of their home territory and establish the first "chapter" of Evergreen. The Central Wa. Chapter has been an absolute success since then. Developing new trails in the area, partnering with the USFS and local conservation organizations, improving the riding and reputation of mountain biking in our community. The ability for Evergreen to get the work done and engage thousands of riders in the process of advocating, building and maintaining trails is second to none. Washington wouldn't be the mountain bike destination it is without Evergreen.

I started mountain biking when Tiger Mountain had only 3 trails open to bikes. Evergreen has been instrumental in the growth of mountain biking in the area since then - I am now just a short drive from the kinds of trails I used to drive hours for! On top of that, Evergreen introduced me to trail building which has been a really fun and rewarding experience.

Became a member of EMBA before I moved to WA this summer having seen how much work and advocacy they do for the sport we love and lands that support it. Their collaborative efforts to create and maintain trails also promotes safety for other trail users-humans and horses especially. The funds they receive from memberships and donations have daily, tangible results. The existence of EMBA is a true privilege for our area and there's nothing more fun than getting to know members through trail maintenance days. They are totally worth my trip across the country. Join or donate if you or anyone you love like to pack dirt in tire treads, or want to support sustainable outdoor activities.

I first came across Evergreen (BBTC) in 2006 at a volunteer day through work. I was interested in getting back into mountain biking so I thought I'd check out helping at a little place called the Collonade. Little did I know that I'd meet two people that day that would turn out to be good friends years later. From there I got interested in taking skills classes to improve my riding and helping out with projects at Duthie Hill and other volunteer opportunities. That eventually turned into becoming an Evergreen instructor for 4 years which lead to me moving into now my 5th year working with the board in various roles. Through this organization I have not only be able to make a difference in improving access to mountain biking in Washington but I've also met some of the best people I've crossed paths with in my life and formed some of the strongest friendships I've ever made. Additional side effect has been both of my kids have spent time as volunteer assistant instructors and my youngest is now going into being a paid coach while still a sophomore in high school and keeping on with her junior racing career!

I learned about the organization in 2009 and went all in as a volunteer trail builder in 2012. Evergreen soon became a big part of our family with my wife helping start the Cranksisters and our kids taking classes. What this organization has accomplished in such a short time with limited resources is amazing and benefits an immense population beyond just mountain bikers.

I learned about EMBA in 2006 (BBTC back then) when I read an article in the newspaper about a skills clinic they were doing at St Eds. Took the class, joined some rides and the involvement has only grown.

Love this organization. My family has been involved with trail building and advocacy.

Mountain biking became my favorite outdoor activity since I moved to Seattle area because Evergreen MBA creates amazing all-year-round opportunities for that. That makes me happier and healthier. The variety of trails and features for all skill levels helped me safely improve my riding skills from beginner to intermediate in few years (riding 2-3 times a month on average). Look at this bike trail on the video which is just a 10-15 minute drive from my home (thanks to Evergreen MBA), isn't it awesome?

I moved to Washington two years ago with a mild appreciation for mountain biking only experiencing cross country single track with very little elevation gain. I was blown away by the amazing trails throughout the state and have since become an avid biker. Evergreen does an amazing job advocating and maintaining trails at the same time providing education and opportunities for underserved youth. Can't say enough about the job they are doing! Keep up the amazing work!
