EAPL clearly loves dogs and has some of the kindest, gentlest foster families around. They don’t charge extraordinary fees for your future pets, but still make sure the animals are vetted and that you know what you’re getting when your furry friend gets home. These guys have earned our trust and that of their community.
I have been fostering dogs for EAPL for about ten years. Although I buy food, grooming services and supplies for my foster dogs, I absolutely have the option of having EAPL pay all foster dog expenses. EAPL pays all expenses of veterinary care. There is never any problem getting authorization to take an animal for veterinary care. I am unaware of anyone in the EAPL using donations for personal expenses. In addition to accepting much appreciated donations, EAPL helps support itself through its thrift shop. This is an excellent organization whose clients are the animals; they work hard for their funding; the Board members are always available to help the volunteers and the animals any way they can.

My experience with EAPL has been quite the opposite of an earlier posting. All volunteers do their work with EAPL at their own expense. They buy supplies, and donate them. They transport animals, answer phones, arrange for veterinary care, attend meetings, donate food, fuel, blankets, fundraising supplies and more, at their own expense. EAPL is available 24x7x365 for help and assistance. Volunteers give hundreds and thousands of their own time without compensation of any kind. I have seen first hand the love and kindness that makes this non-profit so successful. When an animal or owner needs assistance, an army of volunteers are instantly at the ready to help.
