After my husband had a bad accident and we were forced to move across county with a few bags in our possession. Waiting for our belongings and caring for kids was taking a toll on us. It was a new city, we were newly military so we didn't know our resources. Then I found Ms Janet. I made a post asking for help and she replied and offered help. My kids had clothing and toys and child care so we could focus on my husband's recovery. It felt like an angel was sent down to us in the middle of all our struggles. Next thing we knew, she had reached out to other organizations and help continued coming our way. From financial assistance, to presents. We were blessed.The biggest thing is that we know no matter when, or what time. They are there for us. They are willing to help and guide us.Ms Janet has never stopped helping us in any way. I will be forever grateful to this organization. I keep telling all my Hispanics friends about how great this organization is, and hope it can be known more widely.

I’ve had the privilege to volunteer for Esposas Militares Hispanas USA Armed Forces since its founding. This nonprofit is one of the best resources available for Hispanic spouses to understand the military life. A resource that was lacking before the creation of EMHUSA. The nonprofit, also, provides families with the opportunities to grow and learn within the places they are stationed around the world. EMHUSA strives to bring the Hispanic community together with the military community by breaking down the language barrier.

Estoy muy agradecida por los grupos por bases, ya que me ayudan a conocer un poco el área antes de relocalizarnos. EMHUSA is an organization that empowers, educate and provide resources to Hispanic wives like me. I’m so grateful for their mission and the impact they have in families like ours. EMHUSA built a strong community that support its members across the world. Without them, many would struggle finding the answers and the resources to be successful as a military family member.
I’ve been part of this group for many years. It has been a way to help each other as a military wives from new to experienced. It also has been less intimidating since when I joined I felt more comfortable speaking in Spanish. It is a great way to make friends who speak the same language and have a similar cultural background. When you are a military wife, life is hectic and it changes in the blink of an eye. It is a great source providing us with up-to-date information and great service to our community. At the same time, we also help each other. We can share our experiences and answer other military spouses' concerns when PCS-ing. This page also helps military spouses in not-so-great situations when they can be threatening. I know that for many spouses this is the only way to communicate and get information about military situations. For me it has been a great asset, it has helped me and I've been able to help others. I do hope to see this organization keep expanding and keep helping other military spouses.

Ha sido un grupo que me ha ayudado mucho en esta vida militar. Nunca antes había estado cerca en esta vida y cuando me case con mi esposo todo era super nuevo. The EMHUAF help me a lot! This group is incredible! They share very valuable information. Thanks to them I found a remote side job, I took english classes for free and entrepreneurship classes for free too! They help you answering your questions and problem. Just starting my life as a military wife was scary. I was full of doubts and questions and needed somewhere where I could ask without being shamed by other military wives. When I joined I didn’t expected more than a group of wives telling their experiences, but I got so much more. Made friends, got information, started studying English, started this new adventure with no fears. With the years this organization has grown, everyday they can offer more to all of us, and all out of their pure heart. I appreciate everything they do for us and I’ll forever be grateful for their help in our lives.
The organization have helped me to help others. We offer resources to help military wives adapt to their new lifestyle styles and culture in their Spanish language. Some of the resources are English classes, support for each military branch, and specially a group where we all can share our experience or ask for anything that we need.

As a volunteer of Esposas militares Hispanas USA we provide tools , resources and information in Spanish to all the new Spanish speakers military wives that enter to this unique experience. Military culture is totally different to the civilian culture but is harder when there is nothing in your language. We provided English classes to help the transition . I am very proud to help others achieved their dreams and provided support in the new adventure.

Al principio con la barrera del idioma no sabiamos a donde ir a quien recurir, donde encontrar servicios, nuestros derechos y respinsabilidades. Yo aprendi todo eso con dificultad y trataba de ayudar a otras familias. He estado con la organizacion desde que comenzo y ver hasta donde ha llegado y como ha ayudado a muchas familias militares hispana. Con un poco mas de 20 años como army activo siendo esposa militar en esta organización creada apoyandonos a travez del Fb yo e conseguido informacion que hasta preguntando en la unidad de mi esposo no tienen idea por ejemplo el programa EFMP, viajar con mascotas. A pesar que las bases crean oficinas de "ayuda" a las familias los hispan@s estamos en desventaja cuando llegamos a algun lugar, no conocemos a nadie y en muchos casos no son fluentes en hablar ingles o el miedo nos aguanta de preguntar. Al igual ayuda tanto en los procedos de transicion como de apoyo.

For me this nonprofit charity have been like an encyclopedia of military life. As a military spouse starting this military life and living in a foreign country (learning a new language) we have lots of questions and concerns. They are very helpful and can answer any question or address any issue we face through our journey and it's a 'must' that we speak the same language.

Por 28 años vivi en Puerto Rico, la situación fue q mi esposo siempre había querido entrar al aRMY y nunca yo quería, hasta q me llevo me hablo bien de todo y dije vamos hacerlo. Mientras el se preparaba en básico y AIT yo me tenia q encargar de lo demás en un país que no sabía nada y para mí temor fronterizo, casa, mudanza, pasajes, carro, plan médico, insurance,plan dental, asegurarme de vivir en un sitio seguro y una amiga me comentó de este grupo que fue y es mi salvación, han sido mi guía, he tenido situaciones y solo tengo q compartirlo y en menos de 10 minutos tengo contestación a mi problema. Aquí encuentro la seguridad para poder brindarles a mi familia. This non-profit group helped me when I find myself without any other military related help. The administrator will help you right away, plus the spouses will give you their two cents and advices. If I need to know any military news they are the one to show me what it's real and what it's not. But, the biggest thing about this group it's the support!.

A great group that help us to know a lot of things related with all military life . More than a group I think that is a brotherhood because we share experiences and meet new people and we helping each other
if the military is you new life like a wife or service member and english is not your first language this group is your salvation.

5 stars dont cut it, this organization had help so many people, since I found it, I know that I can trust the fundator and her amazing staff,they are a great team. Always trying their best to help and keep us inform. A lot of us struggle with the language but still want to be inform about what is going on and they make it easy to be on top of everything. Im very greatfull for their work. Keep it up girls.

Amazing organization! As 20 years hispanic navy wife I can said that we need forum like this one. Helping all Hispanic military dependants to be more oriented every time we transfer. Starting for asking opinions about housing, schools, colleges even driving and professional licenses in any countries we moved. Talking in your native language is always more comfortable and less misunderstanding in the way. Thank you for support us. Gracias!
