After the death of my 18 year old, we were devastated and didn't know where to go or what to do next. All we knew is that we wanted to honor her and leave a legacy for her. The Erie Community Foundation was there for us, and set up a scholarship fund. We can go on, because we know that her name and scholarship will far outlive us.
Erie Community Foundation is a community foundation who distributes funds to non profits through a process whereby the non profit must submit grants under ECF's chosen category of funding.
The Environmental Science Alliance organized a well thought out rain barrel water conservation project. The grant would provide rain barrels throughout the community, and enlist local artists to decorate them.
It was part of a major initiative by the Science Alliance in an effort to broaden and deepen environmental awareness and the role we can all play in conservation.
This grant was denied. This is not the first environmental education that the foundation has denied.
