Mission: Erie Area Rabbit Society & Rescue (EARS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of rabbits.
Rabbits are the third most surrendered pet yet most shelters lack the knowledges and/or resources to adequately care for them. Since 2013, EARS has cared for hundreds of domestic rabbits from various backgrounds including surrenders, hoarding situations, cruelty cases, those abandoned outside even left behind in homes when people have moved away.
Our shelter is committed to providing the proper care, including medical and spay/neuter, as well as the loving attention that these rabbits need while they await adoption into their forever home.
We are also passionate about educating the public on the joy of rabbits as indoor pets and their care.
EARS is a 100% no-kill shelter and receives no public funding. We rely entirely on private contributions.
These people go above and beyond expectations! When i had seen that a loose bunny was found on my route to work, i just so happened to have noticed yet another loose bunny. After some frantic phone calls and some debating on what should happen (to myself mostly) I was contacted by EARS and they came to the rescue! Now these four bunnies and baby bunnies have a full chance to survive and live happy pampered lives! I will ALWAYS appreciate what these crazy bunny lovers did!
We took our rabbit to this organization they are very nice and they took very good care of our rabbit they even got him a new home . I thank them very much for all they do .
EARS does a great service for rabbits and rabbit lovers alike in the Erie community. They deal with such an overwhelming need, and do so much to help every rabbit they can. They are generous and selfless people. They are so much more than just a shelter. They are fantastic educators- they ensure that every potential adopter is prepared for the responsibility of a pet rabbit. They provide support for rabbit owners in the community- from advice to bonding assistance to nail trimming. They provide excellent care to rabbits in the shelter and do everything they can to ensure they all go to great homes.
