The Eric Fund is a 16-year-old, all-volunteer non-profit organization that provides assistive devices for people with disabilities in the Washington Metropolitan Area - DC, VA, MD. Applicants apply for essential equipment when they have exhausted all other means of funding through school, insurance or government assistance. Other than printing and mailing our annual newsletter and supporting our web site, very little money is spent on overhead. We're determined to direct resources to the very worthy people that we serve. With our newsletter and occasional fund-raiser, we're able to purchase approximately $8-12,000 a year on assistive devices that have included iPads, custom wheel chairs, a talking microwave, a seeing eye dog and specialized software. Our goal is to help provide a level playing field for people in our community with disabilities. We've discovered that the need is great and the impact of one device on peoples' lives can be enormous. It's a very gratifying pursuit! www.ericfund.org
