EBB is an amazing organization! I have been to several of their events and have found their work and mission to be so inspiring. Their staff is also welcoming, engaging, and incredibly hard-working. Truly a top-tier non-profit!

EBB is simply incredible in every way. Every single staff member and volunteer is kind, empathetic, caring, hardworking, and wholly dedicated to the mission of the nonprofit, and the work they do fills a vital gap in car in the Triangle area. Keep up the incredible work, you guys are moving mountains out here!

I started volunteering with EBB this year & it has been an amazing experience to be part of the community. EBB fills a critical gap in systems so that all families can thrive through the same opportunities.

I was a first time mom and I was super nervous because I hear about all the horror stories of black women giving birth and the statistics doesn’t help either. I wanted myself and my baby to have the best support team and someone who will always be able to advocate for us throughout this time. When I heard about Equity Before Birth and seen how they assist with women of color with their needs during this time. When I reached out it didn’t take anytime for someone to contact me back. They were able to assist me by providing a Doula for me during this time. The Doula was super knowledgeable and very kind and patient. I appreciate everything that they have done for me and my bundle of joy!

The leadership and mission behind EBB is phenomenal. This team really has a focus on getting the help and support necessary to those truly in need, during some of the most challenging times of a young mother and child’s life. The Equity Before Birth team truly exemplifies selfless service and give all of us the opportunity to give back and support individuals and families in need of our stewardship!

I’m amazed by how much this nonprofit has done to financially support black families during pregnancy and postpartum in such a short period of time. They use their money responsibly (while still taking excellent care of their employees!) and have gotten the attention of large national programs and companies who have matched donations to make it go even further. Reducing the black maternal/infant mortality rate is such a crucial need in the US — and, in my mind, should be receiving more public support and attention — but in the meantime, the way EBB has stepped up to fill the gap is absolutely incredible. Well done.

I am so impressed with the strong core values that EBB walks and talks as they move the needle on fusing ECONOMIC AND BIRTH JUSTICE TO SAVE LIVES BECAUSE EVERYONE DESERVES AN EQUITABLE START! EBB gives direct sponsorship to black and brown birthing people to pay for pre- and post-natal services, always paying direct service provider partners a fair and living wage. Sponsorships are also given to families to make maternity leave a financially viable option as this is proven to be one of the BEST ways to improve maternal and infant outcomes. The team at EBB applies for grants to pay for operational expenses so that all private donations go directly to supporting families in a 5 county area around Raleigh-Durham. We've loved been a donor and supporter of EBB. This organization is community-led and community-centered, and they're creating a new model for how birth equity can be tackled locally.
