Mission: Equinox Documentaries was founded in 2001 after the success of a collaboration with a local PBS station, a production unit and a grass roots environmental organization. The production of documentaries can be involved and expensive and that dedication of resources is not fully utilized if additional media and educational materials are not developed to enhance the impact and the life of the product. While there is a very real audience and a real need for environmental education, corporate and mass-market realities don't always encourage the creation of such specialized products. By utilizing partnerships Equinox Documentaries will have multiple educational applications beyond the broadcast field.
