I have been a volunteer at EOI since May of 2021. From day one I could see that the animals are loved and cared for by people who are passionate about rescuing and rehabilitating abused and neglected animals.
Equine Outreach is always looking for ways to better care for these animals and to educate the community on how to take better care of our equine friends.

I have since joined the Board of Directors and I try to help in anyway that I can. EOI is now my home away from home. I am so thrilled that we are fortunate enough to have a place in our community that fights for these animals. Not only do I get to help save them but in return they have saved me ♥️ It really is people helping horses and horses helping people!

I started volunteering a few months ago at EOI and soon was hooked!
This organization is so dedicated to these surrendered or rescued animals.
Every aspect of their care and needs are taken care of by vets, farriers, and the dedicated eyes of volunteers.
Everyone has the goal of setting up each horse, mule, or donkey for success to be adopted or live out their best lives at EOI.

I adopted 2 beautiful senior horses from Equine Outreach earlier this year. Their commitment to making sure that their horses were going to a good forever home as well as their commitment to making sure I was matched with the horses that were right for me was second to none. They truly care for both equine and human, understanding that the bond between the 2 is what makes it work in the long run. What really amazed me though is their ongoing commitment to the horses and to supporting me now they are home. I had EOI team members drop everything and come and help me with some minor emergencies as I was getting used to being a horse owner. And I know that if I called them today or a year or 2 from now, they would be here. Their commitment to and love for their horses is truly lifelong. I have been in the animal rescue world for a long time and have never experienced anything quite like it.

I've been with EOI for 6 years as an active volunteer because their focus is always on providing the best quality of life for the herd, acting as a dedicated member of the Central Oregon community and evolving as an equine advocacy and educational nonprofit.

Great organization and great mission. I occasionally join my wife (she is out there at least 3 times/week) and I really find something gratifying about helping out.

I began volunteering with Equine Outreach in the fall of 2020 as a pandemic escape. I thought I would come once a week to reconnect with my long-lost passion for horses but after meeting the open-hearted board president and instantly lovable herd, I realized that would have to be three times a week! The volunteers and leaders of this organization have huge hearts for horses, teaching, and community. They highly value accessibility for volunteers, transparency, and above all the welfare of the horses in our care. I came to volunteer as a balm for myself more than anything, but I stayed for the horses whom others have discarded but have become the greatest teachers of my life. I am so honored to have known them and hope I’ve returned to them even a drop of the joy that they have brought to me.

Our son Braden has profound autism and struggles with communication and emotional regulation. It can be difficult to find him structure, meaning, and purpose that all of us strive for in life.

Equine Outreach is a sanctuary for Braden. The work is meaningful, the people are kind and the horses help him connect with the world around him.

We are thankful for the gift that is Equine Outreach, not just for the work they do for horses in need, but for the opportunities and meaning they give to Braden.

I am involved with this organization as a volunteer and can testify to the care and attention given to all equines at the rescue. They receive the necessary hay, grain, medical care and LOVE to live comfortably as well as training to help them become adoptable or just comply with the vets and farriers. The organization is run competently and with integrity by individuals who are passionate about the well-being of all horses. All volunteers are trained on how to work and handle the horses to reduce risks of injury to themselves or the animals. EOI is involved in the community providing awareness of neglected and abused equine, as well as being involved with youth and elderly organizations providing them an opportunity to interact with the horses and learn about them. EOI is a great place!

The most caring and dedicated team I've ever worked with! Equine Outreach truly cares about rescuing horses from abuse, neglect, and abandonment, and they do everything possible to provide the best care for them.

I have been volunteering at Equine Outreach for over 3 years. After retiring it is wonderful to have a place to plug in and help horses. I've seen countless happy endings, some disheartening intakes, people being healed by the horses and personally have gained from the time spent with the horses and the volunteers.

I have been volunteering at Equine Outreach for a year and a half now. Six months ago I took on the task of writing a five year strategic and funding plan that has since been adopted by the board. Our goal was to laser focus our volunteers and limited resources to continue to provide excellent care for the equines in our care now and forever through a number of Legacy programs and fundraising. As an all volunteer run organization it is important to know 100% of all funding received goes directly to the horses. We take care of a lot of horses with little, we know how to stretch a dime but never at the expense of our horses! I could not be more proud to assist this great organization in its 10th year of providing for the horses, mules and donkey's of Central Oregon! Adopt don't shop! cyndi

Feeding and caring for over 100 horses is not an easy task. The horses have no where else to be. My wife and I have made donations and volunteered at the horse rescue ranch and feel that it was and is time and money well spent. At EOI (Equine Outreach, Inc), it is all about the horses: rescuing them and providing the best care for them until they can be adopted. Many of them come in malnourished and requiring medical attention. Some have been abused. All are fed and provided quality medical care and humane training. The goal is to get the horses healthy and trained and find them permanent homes. It takes a core group of dedicated volunteers and management, many others who volunteer when they can. and a lot of donations. Seeing our favorite horse, which had come in hungry and afraid of people, find a new loving home, was both tough (seeing her go) and a blessing (knowing that she had a good home). We are proud to be part of it.

I have been volunteering at Equine Outreach for 2+ years. This organization does an amazing service for the horses it rescues and the community. Rehabilitation, rehoming of horses but also volunteers and youth group are also helped through difficulties in life by learning from the horses they work with.

This is a shoestring group. Private donations fund the rescue and it is staffed by volunteers. I know where my donations are going, straight to the horses and their care.

Amazing what has been done with so little.
