I have worked with EQCA for several months now, and they have been nothing but welcoming and hardworking. The individuals I met during my time with EQCA are spectacular. I enjoy working alongside them as we work dutifully to help serve our LGTBQ youth in the Central Valley.
I've worked with them for several months and they will work incredibly hard to make sure you feel supported. The work that they do is imperative for Queer liberation.
Equality California Institute does good work in a number of areas: from education to immigration to mental health. Their staff is very competent and professional and they value partnerships with other organizations. In many ways, they’re a convener and leader of LGBTQ organizations in California, and they work across divides and bring different parties together to solve problems.
Working w EQCA has been such a rewarding experience. I love my coworkers and the environment we create together and for our mentees. I throughly enjoy serving my community alongside such a tremendous organization
These people have been faced with so many challenges. But, instead of backing down, they always get back up. They're real warriors, and they do it in the kindest way possible. They have such respect and value for people, and they work so hard to make things equal for all people, especially people who identify as LGBTQ. I would really like to see them grow in California and far beyond. One day they will probably be international because of the fact that they fight for change on every platform possible and in such extraordinary ways.
Equality California is doing essential working to highlight the needs of LGBTQ+ persons and enact change on their behalf. Their Safe & Supportive Schools Program is essential to informing parents & policymakers about the effectiveness of district policies to meet state requirements that ensure the equal treatment for LGBTQ+ students and serves as a catalyst for public transparency and discussion necessary to improve learning environments for all kids. EQCA is a great resource for communicating the needs of the LGBTQ+ community and legal and political solutions addressing those needs. They have provided us with several effective & professional speakers for public forums who informed and inspired attendees working in the area of LGBTQ+ equality. EQCA is a great resource and a forceful ally in our work.
Equality California is our resource for best practices in education, community building, and advocacy. Their team is always helpful, collaborative, and responsive. They are leaders in our LGBTQIA space and their energy is unmatched.
EQCA is really the best of the best. I was a fellow for EQCA this past summer and I can’t stress enough how amazing this organization is. My program coordinator worked tirelessly to ensure that my fellowship class had a great experience, despite the pandemic. Even now, months after the conclusion of the set fellowship dates, he is still working to provide us with additional resources and experiences to cultivate our personal and professional development. Because of their connections in the California community, I was able to partake in intimate Q and A sessions with LGBTQ+ leaders and elected officials that I never would have been able to without the help of EQCA. They are an amazing organization and I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done to help me and the LGBTQ+ community.
There were many challenges this year with COVID 19. I am glad that there were also some opportunities too. I had the opportunity to be part of the Equality California Institute Leadership Academy as a participant. Something that I have always wanted to do but never had the chance because of my schedule. We had an opportunity to meet leaders who were making a difference and creating a better world. It was so rewarding and informative, I am truly inspired to give my total commitment to getting involve and contributing to our community. I want to help create a better world.
I was fortunate to be a part of EQCA's Leadership Academy in the summer of 2020. While we couldn't get together in person, EQCA did a phenomenal job assembling presenters who could speak to the issues related to getting involved in public service as an LGBTQ Californian. The presentations were practical and helpful and they have inspired me to throw my hat in the ring. Aside from this initiative, EQCA does other important work throughout the state to support progressive causes and LGBTQ Californians.
